I thought you meant short for the victim… like 2km seems not enough. I would expect something more like 10km or something.

Yup! I’m considering burning my config and distro to a CD-ROM. Impossible to alter on boot lol
My NAS happens to have a CD/DVD drive for some reason lol

4x6 with 1 hour for lunch. 2 hour lunch break if I have to go to the office.

Running from USB usually means it boots from USB and then is stored on your RAM. If you don’t write to the drive at all, the USB will usually be fine.
I have XigmaNAS (FreeBSD) setup like that. Works fine if the OS is really small.

I think that aligns with the deployment strategy right? They are targeting 27 which is the middle release and not LTS. Get some mileage on it prior to 28 LTS.
But yeah, its all corpo speech when they talk about it. Its probably some executive decision of the likes of “We think Rust is axiomatically better, so let’s implement it” like you said.

My bet is, Canonical as a service provider has a customer that is willing to pay for access to more secure rust utils. Or they want to save resources fixing CVEs.
There’s also the spectre of future security regulations possibly demanding these changes one day too.
I still think its built on someone else’s money. lol

I really don’t see what they would gain by license laundering… They’ll unGPL Debian, Gnome, Wayland and the Linux Kernal next?
If you wanted something out of copyleft, you would have an easier time just building on top of FreeBSD. It does like ~80% of what Ubuntu does already.
I don’t feel too hot about them using MIT either, but I fail to see why they would implement this just to get rid of a GPL component. Seems expensive for nothing.

Rust eliminates memory safety vulnerabilities. It accounts for a large percentage of bugs that need patching in live environments, like servers.
I believe Ubuntu wants to grow in iot or embedded devices so reducing patching needs gives them a competitive edge there.

Cities Skylines is at best a remake of Sim City 4. Its all copied, they only added some 3d tech stuff and made an annoying graveyard mechanic that gets old right away.
The trams are pretty cool though.

Yeah, if he was actually able to say any of those lines, it’s probably heavily rehearsed. There’s 2-3 direct snippets associated to him and that’s it. Took no questions.

No, you just see him talking to some people inside the senate. Its sketch that the reports of what he said are only second hand accounts. Still reported by Associated Press, so hard to get more credible… overall suss still.
It’s inexplicable why they are currently and formerly so secretive about his condition. Makes no sense for any good faith reasoning.

That’s a chamber pot right?
Why would you want to be in a relationship with someone who you can’t understand signals from? It shows your communication isn’t on the same level yet.
Real confidence is not overthinking things. Paying attention is a social skill like any other. I think learning it is the best relationship skill you can give yourself.
You can’t love someone off the bat, it’s something that builds. It’s normal to not be sure at first.
Dating and love is ambiguous and complex.
Yep, so you don’t do that. I’ve never seen anyone confess their feelings and not get met with rejection. What can you expect if you put someone on the spot?
Flirting is about ambiguity and plausible deniability, because you are giving yourself and them ways out of the situation if the vibes don’t match.

Yup, I ain’t donating none of my DNA, stem cells or nothing. Sorry organ receiver, I don’t want clones of me being used in endless hellish torment after I’m gone. Burn every trace of my existence, thanks. Gonna live like Jerome in Gataca, with a little vacuum cleaner to clean up after my skin cells.
Imagine this company landed the 23 and me database which was sold at open auction?
The more people use them, the less they work. That’s kind of the whole model right?
They are inherently all flawed because they keep you away from the single only reliable way to date: growing your social circle.
Even if you match someone, that’s a single date where you may or may not continue to see each other. Whereas if you spend all that time and effort hanging out with your friends, getting to know people that are in your and their orbits, you are growing your social circle exponentially and exposing yourself to far more dating opportunities while looking like you’re not even trying. And even if it doesn’t work, you are still making being single more fun for yourself by having a rich social life.
Just spend that time reconnecting with old friends, hanging out with people from work or joining some club or class. That’s how to be successful dating. Specifically by not “dating”. To me dating is something that just happens naturally, you don’t need to go looking for it. Just be ready when the opportunity arises. Learn to spot them. Its a social skill like any.

Amazon left Quebec after a warehouse unionized. Not legal either, Walmart got successfully sued over something similar in the past. They still did it.
On the plus side, Amazon left.

Hehe, remembering the joys of Deadliest Warrior now. No clips found on youtube, but that spetsnaz dude doing all the tactical dodging and faffing about while shooting still gets to me. Especially when the US army guy responds that its just more efficient to raise your gun and shoot first. lol

They used Poland as a military governed area to deport people, then perform extrajudicial killings… then they started settling it with Germans.
Oh ok, I thought it was like restraining order type stuff.
