I cast burning hands

Seems like the Opium Wars all over again.

Competitive human nature and tribalism are the problem.
If something that gives a competitive advantage can be done, someone will do it regardless of the negative consequences (often inflicted upon others).

My bad, you are correct.
Given the future we’re headed towards, I’m very glad I chose not to reproduce.

So the UK is a misandrist shithole, murdering people for the “crime” of being male?

It might be alright in your 20s and 30s. Less alright in your 50s.

Wait, so this started before October 7th? Or did they really put in the overtime those last few months of 2023?

Monetization ruined authenticity. Videos became just another product to push.

I have a browser extension that blocks thumbnails on YouTube because I got tired of seeing people’s creepy facial expressions.

Yep, although it is typically overlaying a surface that is already plastered in ads. At least from what I’ve noticed.
Just lets them change what ads are being shown.

Subliminal messaging?

I can’t even watch sports in real time. I have to let it buffer so I can fast forward through breaks and such.
Still a lot of ads on uniforms and all over the stadium, but it’s mostly the audio (that is often louder than what you’re watching) and the break in continuity for commercial breaks that pisses me off the most.
Nimrod” started as the name of a skilled biblical hunter, but repeated ironic use as an insult (for example, in cartoons… “Bugs Bunny”) led to its accepted modern sense of “fool” or “idiot.”
Nimrod in the X-Men was badass. Probably more fitting to the original definition of the word.
Most of my anguish in life is watching bad shit happen to others, both people and animals. I suppose a “perfect life” would be having the means to do something significant. I don’t mean a few thousand to charity each year, but actual world-changing amounts.
The biggest improvements to my own life would be expanding my social circle, improved physical fitness, and having enough money that I could stop working.

In the second case you can race your body giving up
This needs to be talked about a lot more. I know there’s a shortage of skilled trades people in the U.S., but long hours, harsh conditions, and physically demanding work are rough on older workers.

Given how rapidly things are deteriorating, I guess you could say “well it was 3 years ago.” Clickbait title aside, this one seems really heavy on the copium to me: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LxgMdjyw8uw

Kurzegast (or however it is spelled). Lot’s of copium and straight up denial, e.g. with respect to climate change.
