Star Trek: Deep Space Nine: The finale still breaks my heart because I have to say goodbye to all the characters all over again.

Show: “Scrubs”. Mostly real, authentic, relatable characters with qualities and flaws.
Good writing and rarely a dud throughout the seasons. And not a sitcom so a serious or even sad moment sprinkled in here and there.
    Honorary mention: Parks & Recreation

Movie: “Dune: Part I and II”. Mostly because I’ve seen them so often by now, it’s not surprising at all, but I like them for many reasons besides the whole story aspect.

    MAS*H.

It’s a dark show at times and some of it hasn’t aged super well, but I have nothing but fond memories of watching it with family. I also watch it on my own a lot. I love it so much that I named my dogs after characters. My beagle, who passed recently, was named Radar. My mini goldendoodle is named Rosie.

The version without the laugh track is a whole different show and how it was meant to be viewed, a real masterpiece.

I’ve seen it so many times that I don’t even register the laugh track. Or maybe I’ve seen it without as well? I’ve watched it on cable, on streaming, and had a pirated version of it all on discs for a while.

Even with the laugh track, it’s an amazing show with an overall message that still holds up today. The mix of grittiness and darkness is complimented perfectly with the comedic aspect. It comes across as so purely human. Like, idk how any show can depict the resilience of people and the bonds we can have with each other better than MASH did.

Schitts Creek. Every character is interesting, the stories are fun. There doesn’t feel like there is any doom and gloom in the show. It’s so heartwarming and funny.

Futurama (I can’t skip Jurassic Bark either), Community, Ted Lasso, First Harry Potter film, and both iterations of the show Ghosts.

For a long time it was “big bang theory” until I ran out of episodes. Its just a fun, dumb, and chill show where you don’t have to think too much. You dont need to be super nerdy to understand or enjoy it.

Other awesome series or TV shows id consider comfort are “Foundation”, “Clarksons farm”, “Fututama”, “For all mankind”, for no other reason than I just really enjoy those shows.

Movies would be something like “Interstellar”, “topgear specials”, “the grand tour specials”, “starwars”

300, Mad max fury road, Fight club or anything from Warhammer 40k.

Though not for the deeper and hidden meanings in those, theres enough of trying to figure that out in day to day life.

Most of those just look awesome on simple surface level.

Red Dwarf. It’s got a real Hitchhiker’s Guide vibe to it, and when I’m really low it’s a useful reminder that nothing fucking matters anyway and I should goof off more.
