Btw, that user has also requested deletion of !piracy@lemmy.dbzer0.com on lemm.ee and it is in consideration. If this is the reason for your switch, I’d wait for their action.

1·2 years agoHow can anyone run a Plex server on their work machine? And why doesn’t their IT dept monitor their devices?
It doesn’t support Android Auto, right? That’s what’s holding me back from installing it.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why does it seem different platforms of the fediverse are not so good at communicating with each other? Is this something that will eventually improve?
5·3 years agoI share your experience but unfortunately don’t have answers
Why would the app installation be slow? Do they create sandbox for each app?

You Should Know@lemmy.world•YSK: The Fediverse is a privacy nightmare
4·3 years agoYup, you have a good point with the third party advertisers not following GDPR. And I agree that the privacy policy should be as transparent as possible.

You Should Know@lemmy.world•YSK: The Fediverse is a privacy nightmare
3·3 years agoYep, I just wish atleast the major instances outline this clearly to the users. Fediverse definitely has its merits that outweigh these pitfalls. Everyone should still be aware of this in as transparent way as possible

You Should Know@lemmy.world•YSK: The Fediverse is a privacy nightmare
21·3 years agoIt is reasonable because I can have a trust basis with my followers who are my friends/family. If a malicious instance host can just use a plugin to view follower only post, that’s not going to be expected by an average user. That’s why I posted in YSK.

You Should Know@lemmy.world•YSK: The Fediverse is a privacy nightmare
24·3 years agoYes, but there is a reasonable assumption that your pictures will only be viewed by your followers on Instagram. I can’t see myself switching to PixelFed. I’ve completely switched from Reddit and Twitter to Mastodon, Lemmy, as I don’t tend to share my personal information there anyways.

22·3 years agoThere are laws that you can enforce by suing them. It’s probably not going to be the case here
Are there any major daily driver features from Android missing here? Also are the updates usually stable?

You Should Know@lemmy.world•YSK: The Fediverse is a privacy nightmare
28·3 years agoOfcourse, you can dox yourself in other text based sites like Twitter, Reddit.
But, ActivityPub has other applications like PixelFed. If someone doesn’t know about these privacy implications there private pictures can be exposed to even malicious accounts/instances that are not on theit followers list. It’s best for everyone to be aware of what they are getting into here.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Do People in Third World Countries Have Stronger Immune Systems Than People in First World Countries?English
13·3 years agoIt’s usually the water that makes people sick. When people from third world countries move to first world countries and live there for a couple of years, they will get sick too when they revisit their home country.

01·3 years agoHow to find the available bots and their instructions on the botsin.space?
Their cost benefit analysis seems short-sighted. Having a chip wouldn’t be too expensive as even a Nest Mini has it. Just increase the price by $25 but provide that functionality imo.
