5·2 years agoHadn’t read the actual letter. It would be interesting to know what the specific request they have is.

Technology@lemmy.world•Europe gives Elon Musk 24 hours to respond about Israel-Hamas war misinformation and violence on XEnglish
905·2 years ago“Thierry Breton, the European commissioner for the internal market, said in a letter addressed to Musk on Tuesday that his office has “indications” that groups are spreading misinformation and “violent and terrorist” content on X, and urged the billionaire to respond within a 24-hour period.”
Sounds like it’s just a strongly worded letter.

Technology@lemmy.world•Toyota Will Adopt Tesla-Style Cast Bodies That Might Be Impossible to FixEnglish
171·2 years agoI think point is without the cast body section you could just replace broken parts which may be significantly less. In practice though I don’t think it matters that much. Small accidents hopefully don’t damage the frame and if they do it’s often a bit dubious repairing it.

Technology@lemmy.world•Major airline faces backlash after using ‘ghost flights’ to exploit a legal loophole: ‘They weren’t even selling tickets’English
7·2 years agoThere are slot limits that regulate that. This is just a policy to benefit domestic airlines while encouraging flights to airports other than Sydney and Melbourne.

No one is actually burying trees. What happens is that after the contract ends they can just cut down the trees, release the carbon and start again.
I do agree with better regulation but forrestry ones should just go.
paid a buddy of mine to plant trees.
It’s actually worse than that they are paying people to not cut down trees. It’s the same logic when my GF says she saved $200 because the dress was half price.

Fediverse@lemmy.ml•Why is the default setting for the startpage's feed "Local" and not "All"

Where do they do it otherwise? In Australia it’s also yearly.
People might also get bonus so in some sense you get paid once a year.
Congrats, great DE choice too

Linux@lemmy.ml•Should i switch from systemd to another init system, What are the advantages of using another init system?
1·2 years agoOpenrc at least is sysvinit based. Pre systemd the options were really sysvinit and upstart. Upstart was even worse than sysvinit such that afaik no one has bothered to try to revive.

That’s the point
