You Should Know@lemmy.world•YSK that your gut is connected to your brain. Bacterias in your gut can naturally create serotonin and dopamine. If you have happy gut bacterias, you will feel happierDeutsch
4·6 months agoHow do drugs work then? Many are structurally similar to serotonin and are pretty effective when ingested (psilocybin, LSD, …).

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•what is the equivalent of somatic exercises for the mind?Deutsch
3·8 months agoMDMA works that way for certain conditions like PTSD. It’s a bit like your brain has forgotten what „happy“ (or just „not depressed“) feels like. A substance induces that state and therapy helps to stabilise it.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•During the lead up to the Holocaust did the N... regime just kidnap people who they even thought were Jews? Kind of like ICE is doing to citizens today?Deutsch
6·8 months agoThat is an accurate description of what happened then and now. The only difference still are death camps.
There are pretty strict rules in Germany for working outside your contract work time. This seems to qualify and to be a one time event. Also it must be compensated by extra pay and/or free time.
Been there, done that.
This! Skilful use of substances is the key. Understand why you take it, how it works in your body and what you can do to get closer to the desired state or effect without using.
That is also why I believe the differentiation between legal and illegal substances is not helpful, as it often leads to a more careless (ab)use of legal substances like alcohol.
I hate it with a passion. It is the complete opposite of what Apple design should be, which is clean, functional and free of distractions !

Open Source@lemmy.ml•Is there something like LinkedIn, but without big tech involvement, no data collection, no ads, open source, and preferably decentralized (maybe Fediverse or even P2P)?Deutsch
62·9 months agoThere might be, but the fact that you don’t know it illustrates the problem: market share and popularity.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What language courses did they have in your country’s schools?Deutsch
1·10 months agoWell, it depends. The south-western states usually prioritise French, some north-western offer Dutch. Idk abt the eastern states but judging by the world population speaking either polish or czech, I would believe those are more optional courses, if anything.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What language courses did they have in your country’s schools?Deutsch
3·10 months agoThat‘s true. On the contrary, having taken French and Latin, I picked up basic Spanish and Italian almost on the go, when visiting these countries.
Also French is prioritised as it’s our direct neighbour.
