I read these a long time ago, but remember the stories. He lived in the same town when I live. I went to some local sci-fi fair and he was there. He had no qualms about signing old copies of his books, so I have several signed copies. I was getting his signature on a new book (on the 90s) and he asked the title. I said Homecoming. He asked my up look at the book and it was Homegoing. I think he enjoyed people not really knowing the title.

Think about how you learn and like doing things. Try to connect your art time to that. Like if you are visual, read a book or watch some art videos, the try some art. If your auditory try listening to some music while doing art. I agree with the tip to try a different medium. I’m only going at as my personal enjoyment, maybe to get things out of my head onto paper, so no professional. When I have an idea I’ve used my tablet to sketch that down, save it, and later take that idea into watercolor.

Looks cool. Sort of a mixed media. Are the match stick part wooden? They look like some sort of paper. How much of the black is from actually burning?

Why? I used to not title and sign, but I’ve started to so I can be a little more organized, and I’m adding the date, usually. It’s also a reminder that it’s done.

Do you use a marker or ink pen to draw the black lines first, then add watercolors?

Not in Denver, but I test ppm with water tester and I test acidity with pH test strips. I have an RO system in my house. I usually add minerals I get from the brew store, a little more for stouts according to what I’ve read.

Dirty Americano = shot of espresso, don’t remove grounds and run a second shot (two shots of water through the same grounds)

I made what I call a Dirty Americano = two double shots of espresso (instead of adding hot water to espresso), in my espresso machine.

Eon by Greg Bear. It’s interesting because it was written in the 80s, and the beginning takes across the early 2000s.
