Well, I liked learning about his hobbies I guess…

You Should Know@lemmy.world•YSK that "AI" in itself is highly unspecific termEnglish
8·9 months agoI could follow everything you said up until the conclusion. If consciousness is not computational, then what is going on in our brains instead? I know of course that even neuroscientists don’t know exactly, but just in broad principle. I always thought our brains are still doing computation, just with a different method to computers. I don’t mean to be contrarian, I’m just genuenly curious what other kind of process could support consciousness?

Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•Nothing has helped me learn to trust my instincts more than trying to plug in hundreds of USB devices over the yearsEnglish
154·10 months agoSo… we do all know that USB ports tend to have a default orientation, right? Like we’re all aware that plugging in a USB cable correctly is aided by the fact that electronics companies generally use the same orientation on most orientable devices and the whole “USB rotation disorientation” bit is just a big inside joke, correct? Are there actually people out there not paying attention to the orientation of their cables before they plug them in so it’s just an eternal try and error for them? Maybe other countries have different standards or something because this age old bit is not making sense to me.

Graphene OS only works on Pixel Phones. They’re really the gold standard. Pick one from the supported list on the graphene os website that suits your needs.
Token German chiming in
You got most of it quite right, except the ending. It’s -erle, or really just -le (depending on where you split the word). The suffix is used to change a word to sound smaller, cute, playful and generally less serious. It also has a southern accent/sound to me, but take that with a pinch of salt. Not sure if there is an english comparison. Its similar to another german suffix: -chen
After a year of unemployment one may have their eyes opened to how truly awful the modern working conditions and hours are. They may even pick up a hobby, make non work friends and God forbid enjoy life outside of prepackaged holiday trips. In short, unemployment can be a mirror to unfair and insane employment conditions.
The original picture is obviously super cool, but of course the hand is just a hand. The caption says none of them are leaves, not all are insects.
Yeah, no idea why I felt the need to correct this
Thank you for your service o7

4·2 years agoin other types of media Anime is done to indicate CSAM but in anime Anime is not
if a tv series shows Anime it is trying to potray child sexual abuse
anime isn’t doing that they are just normalising Anime.
?
Yeah, maybe I was seeing a connection where the was none here. I still think YouTube might popularize and normalize some of our hobbies, but perhaps not that much.
Interestingly, this list seems to be a close match with trending YouTube content. Perhaps there’s a discussion here about how social media and purpose engineered trends shape our hobbies (and even live purpose ig). Or maybe these topics just get lots of views naturally on account of them being good hobbies. Also, obviously no offense to op and their interests.
Like, do you actually know that? You’ve said so under different comments here and you sound confident in being right, but… Could you maybe point me to where you get the ‘bog Standart’ poli science definition from? And how this applies to the terms used in the study? I’m sceptical towards the use of (only) liberal vs conservative, but would believe your take if it could be more than a convenient opinion.
You’re probably right, I don’t know what I’m talking about. That’s why I’m not gonna do the challenge.
Ok but, compiling Linux with a controller challenge anyone?
Finally, someone else with the same irrational dislike of them! I don’t even know why this is the one emoji/reaction for me, but I can’t stand it. There is nothing really wrong with it, but without ever choosing to, I cringe specifically at these (and *mlem). Of all the things to have an irrational, deep seated hatred for, at least this is harmless enough. Thank you for showing me I’m not alone in this and let this be the first and last time I rant about disliking bleps

Breakout boards are common tools. They are PCBs that let you connect for example a programmable microchip on a socket to then expose its contacts to larger testpads or a USB connection. This board however has literally broken out of its ESD bag, a common plastic bag used to package electronics while protecting them from static electricity. One might say it has breached ESD confinement.
