  • Not just the states….im in a (rented) house in Germany that was built in the 90s (so not that old to compare to a lot of other houses here) and deal with this everyday. Coupled with the insanely long cleaning times and frequency of use due to how small they are for the “economic” washing machines and dishwashers, fluctuating water pressure and water temps are always a surprise….

  • My super basic faucet handles are exactly that…you twist it left-right to set temp and tilt it up-down for pressure from off to full. We just leave it rotated wherever we like it for temp and tilt up to turn on each time to the desired pressure. Our water pressure is always variable, so the amount tilted up varies, but the “rotational temp” almost never needs changing. There’s no fancy thermostatic valve in these like some shower have. There’s even those fancy kitchen sink faucets that remember everything and you just tap them with your hand and they automatically turn on/off to your settings of temp and pressure. I think they are called “touchless faucets”. Pretty sure even Ikea sells one.

I feel like sink handles like mine are super common, too. I’ve had similar ones in the states and in Europe…

  • Yup. American living in Germany for 2.5 years now, been traveling all over EU and UK…the world is a huge place and there’s a LOT of people. Most of them never think about the states and will never have any reason to. Germany may not be my favorite place, especially since i really struggle with the language so i know i dont fully understand a lot of things here. But the EU in general has a lot of things going way better.

With that said…everywhere always has its own issues as well. The grass isn’t always completely greener, if you will.

  • But….i’m already in the store trying to buy the things? Why do i need to hear constant jingle advertisements for the store im already in? Not jingles for products or certain sale items…just the store itself….as if i kept forgetting where i was?

“Save big money, save big money at Menards!!” Yeah, i know- that’s why im here! But ima leave if that shit doesnt stop!

  • Odd you havent seen it being from the south…but that’s probably for the better! It’s Steak Sauce. Meant to be put on steaks…it’s in all major grocery chains and usually on the tables at most restaurants serving any sort of a steak menu. Bottle is shaped like a Worcestershire bottle, but has a white label with a big A1 on it. I never cared for it so at this point couldn’t even tell you what it tastes like. If a steak needs a sauce, then it’s not a good steak.

With that said, i’ve seen it used as a marinade ingredient, or more complex sauce ingredient- so it’ll still have its uses.
