824·2 years agoThis comment will make me sound like an idiot, but I’m just coming to believe that all of Musk’s decisions with X were targeted to this very outcome. To be the world’s centre of alt right propaganda. It just makes too much sense now.

Games@lemmy.world•Persona 3 Reload — The Eternal Protector | Xbox Game Pass, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows PCEnglish
7·2 years agoPersona 3 portable was the portable re-release. However they released it with a lot of extra content. Content that people believe completed the package and made the game even better. As a result, many fans will experience a jarring feeling as the content they like will be very obviously gone. Hard to understand their decision. Maybe they planned to make it DLC. Sneaky buggers.

41·2 years agoFeels like simply teaching media literacy would do this job. Is that what they mean? I thought that was a given in any English curriculum.

Games@lemmy.world•Alan Wake 2 - Review Thread (90/100 OpenCritic)English
1·2 years agoSince launch I’ve had to download two patches already. I’m playing on ps5 so it’s uncertain whether they’d help you or not, but that’s all to say that you may be able to play sooner than later since they’re offering so much post-release support.

41·2 years agoBig Remedy fan so picked this up day one thanks to positive reviews. While I enjoy it, it suffers from the same problem I felt from Alan Wake 1: the combat is too hard and not that fun. Looks like I’ll be preferring the easy difficult again. That’s okay, still a confident and strong game so far.
Damn, new copypasta just dropped.

Android@lemmy.world•‘You’re Telling Me in 2023, You Still Have a ’Droid?’ Why Teens Hate Android PhonesEnglish
112·3 years agoI don’t think it truly matters what phone you use so long as you’re satisfied with it.
I started with a Nokia and migrated to the galaxy s2 then a HTC. After some time I switched over to an iPhone 5 and then spent a couple years with a middle of the road android who’s brand I have not even committed to memory. My current is an iPhone 11 which I’m pleased with.
All this to say, I think there’s weird cultism around the android ecosystem that is, to me, offputting. Wave your flag with pride sure, but no need to poo poo someone else’s yum all the while.
Edit: I just looked at what community I commented in…
I know you made a joke about MacOS, but I am genuinely interested with what issue you have of it.

Videos@lemmy.world•A.I. Filmmaking Is Not The Future. It's a Grift.
72·3 years agoI respectfully disagree with you entirely. Patrick offered up many good points, but his best came from his breakdown of exactly how the AI might do a better job of using Wes Anderson tropes. Matter of fact, your recount of the video is so wildly different from my viewing, it’s hard to believe you’ve written your post in good faith. I wonder, what do you know that I don’t know?

Technology@lemmy.world•Forbes: Reddit Protests Escalate As Rebel Mods Are Kicked OutEnglish
863·3 years agoIt’s fun to see them getting it from all angles, but the users really should just get out of there since it’s obvious nothing is going to significantly change. The loudest and most effective protest of all is to just leave- but people don’t like the effort it takes to change something in your routine like which site you doomscroll through.
I believe you’re referring to the way some teenagers will brag about it covertly to their friends. Make no mistake, while on the surface it may appear as you say, that’s just the veneer of confidence they’re wearing that belies deeper inner turmoil. I won’t try to unpack what those turmoils are as they are different for everyone and I speak not as a psychological professional but as a professional educator.
What I encourage you to consider is the level of complexity people are burdened by and that when people with awful turmoil enter into your life, even just for a brief moment, that they should be first met with authentic empathy and care before cynicism as the stakes of treating these subjects with anything less are far too severe.
