They told you all the best stuff honestly. If you’re into alcohol you’ll have no trouble finding it. Amazing city though. The food culture there is incredible.

Hell yeah 😙🤌🏼
Oh god you got me looking up Ralph loops… Please, I don’t need this rabbithole!
I just did a long winded reply to your other comment before seeing this one. Seems like we landed in the same place! Hope the server is working well you
I did the same thing a few days ago, but I’m also pretty well versed with self hosting tedious-to-configure services. I would have spent hours rabbit-holing before setting up, and Claude just sped up the process.
I spent most of my time researching and forming an action plan, arguably the most important piece. Within two hours I had a Matrix server stood up with element-web, as well as coturn for calls. Setting up Element-Call for groups took a little longer, but not terrible all told.
I guess what I’m saying is if you’re experienced with a given task, it can be a really great tool to speed things along. If you want to sit back and have it run the show, you’re going to have a rough time.
Out of curiosity, what music software are you using on Linux? I haven’t found a DAW I’ve liked.
Oh man, my wife HATES the omelette episode, it’s too real for her. I tend to do better with the kids when we cook together, but it’s also down to the projects I pick. Making pasta from scratch is messy, fun, and you can be imprecise. Baking (her specialty) is not so forgiving.
Chores, I think, are easier to teach but harder to enforce.

This explains a lot. I’ve had dentists baffled that I could still feel anything during a procedure.

I haven’t bothered with torrents since we cancelled all our streaming services. Usenet is so good right now. SABNZBD, Sonarr, Radarr, Plex, Overseerr for my family requests/Plex share users. Finding a few good providers/indexers was really cheap (Black Friday sales were great last year).
It definitely takes a lot of fucking around/learning initially, but once you’ve set it up right, it’s seamless.
Somewhat related - I hear real-debrid is a pretty slick way to basically stream torrents, if you don’t have access to a bunch of physical storage. Haven’t tried it myself, but people seem to dig it.
Noob mint user here; first distro, I really like it. What’s up with the snap contention that I keep seeing?
This is good advice, I recently first tried a Linux install on a partition of a large HDD just to tinker, then pretty much immediately bought a secondary SSD and re-did all the setup there.
I’m already a convert btw! My windows partition hasn’t been fired up in weeks now.

Good point, I overlooked that. Guess I’m still salty from the previous decade lol. Was extremely happy to see Chabot go, and have been happy with Landsman in general so far. We have a ways to go but I’m trying to be optimistic!

District 1 is a fucking joke, I hate living in it. How is downtown Cincinnati connected to Warren county in any way? The seat used to be competitive, but It hasn’t swung democrat since the change in 2011.
I ended up running the element-call stack for our matrix server. Has worked great for group vid calls and screen sharing so far. I don’t think it had audio for screen shares, the only item missing from your list
