211·3 months agoThe Witcher 3 felt very sloppy to me, controls wise. I felt like combat had me sliding all over the place. Blocking, parrying, and dodging didn’t feel satisfying or responsive.
Just couldn’t get into it at all because of it.
I ended up running around and talking to everyone I could, then realize there’s a ton of combat stuff to do and nobody else to talk to and I just turned it off
IQ tests!
They are standardized eugenics and should be rethought entirely

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why do people call it “woke”?English
2·4 months agoCorrect.
Those in power overused the word and made it mean nothing.
Neoliberals are a part of that.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why do people call it “woke”?English
1451·4 months agoIt’s from the 30s, actually.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Woke
Implies waking up to the systemic violence and oppression and beginning to do something about it.
Then it began being used as a bad thing because people were understanding systemic harm and those in power did not like it.
Overuse the word, make it mean nothing, remove its power, push the people back into oppression.
I could do so much with free gravel, you have no idea.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Have you ever cried because of a video game?English
2·5 months agoI just love the story. It’s very well executed, and they do a great job of investing in the world and the characters. I’m honestly impressed by how long they’ve kept it going and it’s still emotionally impactful.

42·6 months agoI think that’s actually the plan. There’s been moves to dismantle public education entirely, and once there is no more public education in Oklahoma, then the private schools can hire whoever they want.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why does it feel like protesting isn't as "extreme" as it used to be?English
45·7 months ago“The revolution will not be televised”
It’s a phrase I hear a lot in leftist spaces. Effectively, you have to be aware that publicizing these things is a great way to get them shut down.
The work is being done locally, and quietly. Advertising these events in public spaces like this one will very likely lead to them not getting off the ground due to infiltration or oppression

Linux@lemmy.ml•Alright fine I admit it, I want to learn LinuxEnglish
24·7 months agoIf a computer is a car, then Linux(the Kernal) is the chassis. Mint (the distro) is the motor, and Cinnamon (the desktop environment) is the fancy interior.
KDE plasma is a fancy interior that works with tons of different motors.
Cinnamon is designed for mint and works best with it.
DISCLAIMER: All of this is analogy and isn’t technically correct in a pedantic sense, but it works well enough for me. I’m sorry if my analogy isn’t exactly accurate.

5·7 months agoI still feel like an incredible DLC would be the ability to traverse the new land using the old BOTW toolset. How many of the puzzles would be solvable? Would it be possible to get to the sky islands?
Maybe we could get an alt storyline where link falls into the abyss and we explore as Zelda with the sheikah slate instead.

I love the troupe of actors answer actually! Given that Mario 3 is set up like a stage play, as well as more recent entries like TTYD and the Peach title, there’s a lot of evidence that this has been the case for a while.
I like Comedia Del Arte, but Mario. It works!
