Thanks for the input! Lots of these features are on the roadmap already. There are no AI features planned.

I’m fine with an informal structure, as long as we talk about some of the topics I want to learn about :) DMOZ looks fascinating. Seems like curlie is its successor, but their page doesn’t load for me.

Thanks! Integrated search & website icons are coming soon. Tags are already there but are called lists - which is probably a bit confusing.

Thanks for the hint - it seems there are some routing problems to the server. I’ll look into it!

linkblocks is inspired by wikis but differs in some key goals:

• the UI for discussions will be more upfront than in most wikis, and will look more like lemmy’s comment UI.
• bookmarking-specific features like dead link checking, full-text website retrieval & search
• optional stream of new bookmarks & comments from people you follow

That’s one of the reasons I’m doing the interviews :)

This comment is neither soft spoken nor patient.

I‘d love to have that. The closest I know of is pinry, but it’s not federated.

Wow, incredible! Thanks!

Beautiful!

Thanks, very interesting writeup that gave me some hope!

If you like solar fields, try Asura (also on ultimae records)! Also, hinkstep is pretty nice but has vocals some of the time.

I’m writing a small music player to test it. The experience is pretty smooth, lots of examples and built in stuff. It’s a bit rough around the edges but I’d recommend it to anyone who likes rust

That was really nice

For storing state, I’d look at SQLite first. turbosql is a wrapper that looks like it’s a joy to use and I’ve been looking for an excuse to try it for a while :)

Just went down a nice deep rabbit hole of all kinds of nice blogs. Thanks for posting!

Congratulations! What inspired you to write this?

Have you looked into notmuch?

I looked into building something like this but I think most people are scared off because the TOS prohibit doing that, so I didn’t investigate further :/
