I seldom take food to my workplace. I just go to a restaurant nearby. Around $18 for a three course meal (starter, main course and dessert) with 1,5 l of water and a coffee is actually a good deal after a 3-6 h working day

2·8 days agoWe wouldn’t need such a battery development if we had simply invested in a standardised electrified wiring network for the motor roads. we would have lighter cars that charge their ~100 km battery while driving on the motor road so they can easily reach their destination

Most people wouldn’t need anything else than a mobile phone to desktop setup. A mobile phone chip can’t run a full fledged OS because of greed

11·2 months agoadvertising is forcing you to pay with your time and attention. I started hating all kinds of ads when I first flew with Ryanair. There aren’t headphones big enough to withstand two and a half hours of uninterrupted bullshit

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Why are there many complains about AI power usage but almost none about the resources being wasted by the war/arms industry?
101·2 months agoI live in a Catholic country. Well, I know, countries can’t have religions. Let’s say that the élites impose the marketing and propaganda of that corporation. Every year, they block the streets with massive far-right demonstrations. People dressed as KKK wander the streets burning candles which cost thousands in manpower to clean. On the other hand, when I was younger, people would freely gather at night to have drinks in the street squares. They would litter a lot. The press used to create a great problem about the people drinking but not about the people dropping candle wax.
Pollution, as crime, is only a political concern when it’s done by the lower classes

11·2 months agoI have infiltrated an organisation and I’m extracting a few thousand dollars every month. They aren’t even aware that I’m taking their money bit by bit. I just show up there, pretend to solve some tasks responsibly and dutifully; I talk to people, ask them to chill out; I give them forms myself as well to keep them doing busy work. At the end of the month, the organisation wires money to my bank account. Little by little I’m becoming less poor at their expense

If the EU had wanted to make a difference, they would have adopted the gold standard instead of a cheap dollar copy
