  • Iran has Trump’s nuts in a vise right now. They’ve successfully made the Strait reopening contingent upon Israel stopping its attacks on Lebanon, which means Trump would have to put on big boy pants and stop Netanyahu, but Trump doesn’t have the life skills to put on big boy pants. Trump threatens total war with Iran, but knows that would be the end of his administration domestically. He has left Iran with more power than they had before he attacked, and doesn’t know what to do, so is trying to bully NATO into saving him, which NATO will never succumb to.

They state right there at the beginning that they’re studying how social cues impact addiction. That knowledge has real potential to impact substance abuse treatment modalities.

As an aside, the “how did that get funded” joke is a common right-wing trope to dismiss or undermine any science they don’t like, so I’d recommend in the future you avoid it

I assume you mean well, but this is serious “confidently incorrect” energy. Yersinia pestis, the bacteria that causes bubonic plague, never changed to become less virulent and can still affect humans to this day. It has been killing a ton of humans for thousands of years and was still killing thousands of people at a time in localized outbreaks up until we discovered the antibiotics that cure it.

Also, it’s transmitted through the fleas on small mammals, not through the mammals themselves. Flea transmission is far and away the primary vector. Human to human transmission has always been pretty rare, since it can only be transmitted between humans through contact with bodily fluids, similar to how HIV spreads.
