Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What's something which you pay more than "it's worth" for the sake of good quality/experience?
2·1 month agoThe way I understood the question, the downvotes could be interpreted: 1. iPhones are not high quality, or 2. They are worth the price. 4·2 months agoHeadscale is great! Netbird is easier, but their client for ios is soo battery hungry (at least the last time I tried).
When I started my Linux journey a couple of years ago, I tried lots of distros and experienced some of the same frustrations. The distro that hooked me and just worked was Pop! OS. It was very user friendly, didn’t require any fiddling, it just worked. Later I wanted a more up-to-date system, and after trying several distros I settled with Fedora.
Other thoughts: …be sure to install Timeshift (system rollback app). …my experience is that gnome desktop is easier, cleaner, less tweaking and less overwhelming than kde.

Too many get destroyed by drugs. To many lives ruined, to many young kids live through hell because their parent(s) are addicted. Too many people, leaders, rich and others loose their empathy as a result of drug use.
Why use drugs? escape from life that sucks, feed the ever need for a dopamine fix (should social media be considered a gateway drug?), boredom…
