I’d say neutral. Since you can install gapps (e.g. Playstore, gmail) for convenience and less privacy. Or microG instead of gapps.

Definitely considering switching to proton. It’s just the 1gb limit that seems like an issue for me. Otherwise the free tier seems fine for me I don’t email that often.

Sounds like a decent thought and Amtrak is all “that’s too expensive!” But for improving the infrastructure they should either eat the cost or get aid for it.

I used to on my Motorola RAZR for custom themes and the ability to double tap volume keys for track skipping or rewind. Now I have an app to to do that and some watered down system themes. Now I just don’t cause I don’t see the reason for rooting anymore. And random apps like McDonald’s have started checking for root or unlocked bootloader’s for some reason.
