3·3 years agoRight that’s why I asked if anyone had any recommendations. I think it’s pretty unique. Like it’s basically a buddy-cop movie but it’s not like any other buddy-cop movies I’ve seen.
Some of the comedy reminds me of Mel Brooks with the elaborate set ups, absurdist situations, and stuff. But it doesn’t feel like it’s copying anything.

25·3 years agoI feel this way about lady gaga. Not really a fan of her but her voice is excellent
I’ve gone through all of Scrubs twice plus random episodes here and there.
And I have gone through Dark three times and that’s saying something since I don’t often watch a series more than once.
I love both Chicago style and Detroit style and they are not the same thing. Detroit style has a lot of breadiness to the crust where Chicago is like a denser crust. And detroit is typically rectangular with toppings all the way to the edge. There isn’t really a proper crust to grab.
I’ve had Buddy’s pizza when visiting the Detroit area and I thought it was really good.
I have a Jet’s near me and it’s one my favorites to get takeout from.
kvn@midwest.socialtoMovie News and Discussion@lemmy.ml•A Man Called Otto pales in comparison to A Man Called Ove.
3·3 years agoSo I watched A Man Called Otto not knowing that it was a remake. Honestly I watched it because I like Tom Hanks. And I thought it was okay. Not bad enough to turn off but perhaps that’s because I didn’t have any expectations going into it.
I can definitely agree that a lot of the characters and situations were a bit unnatural and that’s why I say it’s just an okay movie.
However unnatural the characters were I still enjoyed Tom Hanks’ performance in it and the contrasting relationship he developed with Marisol. I don’t know the name of the actress but I liked her performance as well.
Perhaps I should go watch A Man Called Ove now

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What's a quote that has stuck with you for your whole life?
8·3 years ago“Every path is the right path. Everything could’ve been anything else. And it would have just as much meaning.”
From the movie Mr. Nobody. It’s a good thought provoking movie despite Jared Leto.

Right! So many great moments.
