Gaming@beehaw.org•Fallout is available to watch on Amazon PrimeEnglish
6·2 years agoIt doesn’t, it isn’t, and it works so well because of that.
I’ve finished the season now, and I think it was a really great adaptation. Just the right amounts of fan service and hoakey camp, just like the games are to their predecessors.

You mean The Professor Paul Stamets, who wears a big hat that is one big mushroom? The one with a species of mushroom named after him? The one with honorifics in warp speed pop culture, and those who feed lemmings memes?
Cuz he’s a cool dude.

2·2 years agoI may have to give it a go. I am similarly adverse to mucking with xorg confs.

News@lemmy.world•Highly contagious Norwalk gastrointestinal virus on the rise in the US.English
4·2 years agoIts one of those stories I will tell for the rest of my life. Bust out at weddings to embarass my kids.
My daughter self potty trained that weekend. First from the sheer trauma of overflowing her diaper from all possible angles at once. Then later from having to fend for herself and her brother for a couple of days, while her parents tried to turn themselves inside out.

13·2 years agoYes, hyperactive emesis does take place in other aspects of life, indeed.
Cannabis related hyperemesis is highly controversial, and if valid, only effects a very small subset of the population, in a very obvious manner.
Nowhere is someone barfing so hard their neighbors can hear them, and thinking ‘I should smoke a fattie, it’ll help!’. At least not more than a few times before the lack of differing outcomes becomes apparent.
Yunhost has always been my go-to.

201·2 years ago2011-ish for me. I literally know the moment the Virus entered our lives, my 2yo son licked the Walmart shopping cart handle.
Kids got sick first, thankfully, they recovered quick.
The adults on other hand… Ooof. Ever throw up so hard that you scream? Every 3-5 minutes, for days? While also violently soiling yourself from the other end due to the forceful projectile vomiting attempts.
So. Much. Fun.

Technology@lemmy.world•Hackers Leak 2.5M Private Plane Owners’ Data Linked to LA Intl. Airport BreachEnglish
37·2 years agoThat book is a not-so-covert manifesto, I swear.
In the book, I noticed upon re-reading – it was always the biggest polluters (usually, the richest of the rich) that had unfortunate drone-strikes while flying.
Not the electric planes. No commuter planes. Straight up 1%-er targets.
B admits to it later on in the book, when they hint B might be Mother.
Bobiverse books by Dennis Taylor are also a great read.
