They can’t distribute the proprietary bits in with the engine, so you have to work with the Godot team and a publisher which you probably would be doing anyway.
This would probably happen if the downvote didn’t federate, but the Undo action of the downvote did.
Do you have any further reading on this? I’d love to learn more about how we got here
I’m sure if this actually pushes through they’ll change the terms for those clients just to keep them happy (and paying what they do pay, which likely dwarfs all the smaller players). And they sure as shit won’t fight for the smaller creators when they get theirs.

Technology@lemmy.world•Unity’s new “per-install” pricing enrages the game development communityEnglish
1·3 years agoGodot mentions on the website that they partner with publishers for console support, so it’s theoretically possible. It’s not like indie devs working with Unity are getting their hands on Dev kits anyway.

Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•People should start making memes that explain how Lemmy actually works
5·3 years agoNot quite right. All would be the entire galactic federation that allows free entry with your planet, like the countries in the EU. There is no way currently to see the entire galactic federation, and probably never really will be because of the enormous amount of data that would need to be kept on a single instance.
