Awesome read, thanks for this! Really interesting to hear the takes from devs and creators in the industry.

Love this! Excellent work and great use case for Zigbee 👍

This is really great (and by great I mean terrifying to see it all laid out plainly). The only nitpick is the idea that the model “is coming to europe next” … as if this whole thing wasn’t kicked off by Brexit and the Cambridge Analytica scandal. Europe was the testing bed for this a decade or more ago.

Excellent, insightful comment and I very much appreciate and resonate with this response.
I do think the protest serves to raise awareness, even if it’s a bit extreme. The desired effect is not really to encourage the complete rejection of tech, but bring attention to the issues and get the average person to think a little more about their usage of it. I’m actually kind of proud of these young folks for being able to snap themselves out of the social media-induced hypnotic state their generation seems to be stuck in.

Completely agree and thank you for saying exactly what needs to be said. I oftwn ask how did we get here? This timeline is so far off from the one I came to expect even like 10 years ago. How do we get back to a more stable, less angry society?

Love the creativity here. If it works, it works!

Oh wow, didn’t realize the mod did this! Very cool

Looks cool but what is the purpose of this? There are no controls for setting temperature or pressure on this model, so isn’t it kind of useless?

why don’t manufacturers of basic cars just put a fancy-looking exterior onto them?
They do. This is exactly what Hyundai does for the Genesis brand.

The fill came mostly from Needham
The firm of Goss and Munson extended railroad lines to quarries in Needham, Massachusetts, 9 miles (14 km) away; a 35-car train carrying gravel and other fill arrived every 45 minutes, day and night.[11] When the Needham gravel pits were exhausted, additional fill was found in Canton, Dedham, Hyde Park, and Westwood.[12] William Dean Howells recalled “the beginnings of Commonwealth Avenue, and the other streets of the Back Bay, laid out with their basements left hollowed in the made land, which the gravel trains were yet making out of the westward hills.”[13]

Cohen did time for the exact same crime

Stranded Deep - one of the only survival/crafting/procedural open world games that has a defined objective and an actual ending.
10/10 don’t need to play it again but I might anyway because it was so great

That’s not how helmets work. The outer shell certainly helps mitigate bumps and bangs, but what really protects your head is the styrofoam inner that compresses like an airbag upon impact.

I haven’t used this before so I can’t comment on how effective it is, but you could try https://remoteok.com/

Underrated comment 🔥

Yep. Not a single non-profit or open-source related position in her CV

Actually it’s 50%. Either you win or you don’t: 50%.

I’m not seeing the issue here. If you’re going to crash, don’t.
Not a regular guy by any stretch.
