My favorite cut. What was your process? What did you do for the sear? From the sous-vide I like to sear on a hot cast iron or a hot grill.

1·7 months agoTuna fish casserole. Made me gag. None of my friends ever heard of it back then and not many now. I think it’s like an old Betty Crocker type recipe. Today, I love it, but only my mom’s.
Understand that RCS is very hit or miss right now. I believe all alternate OS’s are having a problem figuring it out. Some people are using it with no problem and other people can’t get it to work. There is a looong RCS thread in the GrapheneOS forum.
Community is great. There are many very knowledgeable people there.

I bought this album (Meatloaf, Bat out of Hell) back when you went to record stores and flipped through albums and bought something because the cover looked cool. I was already listening to Judas Priest, Iron Maiden… I was like wtf is this. Never understood that genre. And yeah, kiss sucks too.

Cars - For Car Enthusiasts@lemmy.world•Good undercoating in Romania or Germany?English
3·10 months agoWell I just learned something new. The term undercoating, to me, is the heavy black spray. I didn’t realize this product (B’laster Surface Shield) could be used like this. I found a reddit thread where a guy sprayed the bottom of a truck and a year later he was impressed how well it lasted. Sounds like it would occasionally need to be re-coated. I have zero experience with the green can product, but it sure looks to be very similar.
I just put one in my cart and made it all the way to payment option… maybe try again?

Cars - For Car Enthusiasts@lemmy.world•Good undercoating in Romania or Germany?English
1·10 months agoThat Blaster Surface Shield is like an oily, waxy spray that wipes right off. It’s not like black undercoating that goes on thick and dries hard.

That looks awesome! I gifted someone a smoker. He went all-in on it… total rock star on that thing now. Cool to see someone having as much fun as I do learning a new skill. Definitely a good feeling.

Cooking @lemmy.world•[QUESTION] Cutting Board Recommendations (Machine Washable, No Microplastics)English
12·1 year agoI used epicurian for about 5 years. Easy to clean. Dishwasher safe. Very abusive to my knives.
Now I have a maple board for produce only and I use plastic for meat. The plastic boards, I have 2, were $20 or so, and are expendable. As soon as they get beat up (a year), they get replaced. I’m not really chopping on the plastic, usually slicing, so I’m not too worried about micro plastic.
The maple board was a game changer. Knives stay sharp much longer, and it just feels better to cut and chop on. Hard to explain. Cleaning is easy. After use, I wipe with a clean, damp rag, then spray with a 50% vinegar/water solution, let sit a minute, then dry. Once a week (I use it often), I coat with a thin layer of mineral oil. Soaks right in.
I also think bamboo would be too hard on the knives.
I’m not a chef, not in the industry, just a home cook that likes to have the right tools.
