Yes, I’m fear stricken by the Costco membership.
What do I own today? I live in a rented flat, my car is leased, even the movies I watch are “rented”.
Affordability is in crisis ALTHOUGH WE DON’T OWN ANYTHING.
So tell me more about how not owning anything will be the solution.

It still stresses me out when there’s a traffic delay, because I’ve no fucking idea how long this traffic delay will be and if it exceeds my extra time.
That was my thought too, the article skips the most obvious cause: violence and state repression work as a deterrent. If being queer or trans risks surveillance, legal attack, or violence, people will understandably stay silent.

My first thought was that rising poverty, which disproportionately affects African-American communities, plays a major role. Poverty often leads to poor diets, which in turn worsen underlying health conditions. Add the stress of working multiple jobs (because you can’t afford to have only one) and you have your perfect recipe for declining health.
