I used Nova for years, but it felt increasingly outdated so I switched to Action Launcher. Then it too started to feel outdated after a few years so I switched to Smart Launcher, which I’ve been loving. I miss AL’s side drawer but SL has a lot to offer if you want something slick and simple, with custom widgets and layouts. I recommend you check it out!

In fact, I’d argue that most people not wearing masks is a great reason why vulnerable people SHOULD wear masks, and now those who work in a place that’s banned them have to choose between their health and their job. People do give a fuck, just not you.

And? People get sick from other airborne illnesses too, no person or company should ever be able to prevent someone from doing something that protects their body from injury. Banning masks, bathroom breaks, water breaks, etc, it’s all the same shit fucking sandwhich

I’ve never actually seen anything in 70mm IMAX, so idk! But I love the vibe of analog film and the way it looks, so to experience Nolan in the way he intended it at essentially 16k resolution is likely going to be incredible. Five hours is quite a lot though, especially to then watch a three hour movie. Maybe if you made a weekend out of it and stayed at a hotel or camped somewhere? I’m lucky that the closest one to me is only a 45 minute drive

Ah gotcha! I think the nature of anonymous social media brings out the best and worst in people. Some people will go out of their way to help people for nothing in return, not even clout. Others use the veil to hurt others without accountability. Then again, we see these things on social media where people’s names are attached, so idk. I think the slightly convoluted nature of the fediverse will filter out a lot of people for now, but what kinds of people I’m not sure.

I do think positivity and kindness are the majority, and assholes are the very loud minority. I also think that having good mods and modding tools behind the scenes can affect the atmosphere a bunch as well. Lemmy feels great right now because it’s small, but how will it scale? That remains to be seen 🤷‍♀️
