I think that’s fine. Your privacy is as valuable as you think it is. If you care about privacy, then you’ll be on the lookout for this but if you don’t even care to bother taking a look at what you’re signing up for, you obviously don’t care about your privacy

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Can we prevent Lemmy from being so political?
64·3 years agoI’m with you on this … somewhat. I’m tired of everything being political everywhere. I hate how every discussion goes down with politics. One way to “achieve” this would be if you or someone like you made a lemmy instance where nothing political would be allowed and we were to browse that locally. I myself hate both left wing and right wing equally so I’d love a place where I’m free of politics.
The other way is much simpler, which is you browse through communities and find what’s political and what’s not and subscribe to them and only browse through your subscriptions.
However it’s neither possible nor justified to not allow people to get political. 99% of the internet is made of politics and sex
this really makes nixOs so good because I can just make others do the hard work of configing it for me and use it 😂

Open Source@lemmy.ml•What's the problem with redhat not wanting to share their code with others?English
1·3 years agoAlmost everyone before said that they’re not sure redhat’s violating any laws, Some say they’re clearly not violating law and some say they’re clearly violating GPL tos. Many articles and videos make it clear that they are not a lawyer and don’t understand if they’re breaking the law but they still hate the decision. If redhat is breaking the law, then it’s a different story

31·3 years agoThat’s… The appeal lol. You can subscribe and stuff but your data remains with you. But i get why that turns many people off
Microsoft rarely makes good decisions. Though wp had a great ui ahead of it’s time, it was super restricted, and companies had to pay for using windows on their phones. Android although was way more unpolished, it was free and open source. And Microsoft has continued to make terrible decisions ever since

Also the crunch 🤌🏻
