Kick them in the nuts (or the stomach, in case they don’t have nuts), because relying on individuals with money to solve our problems is one of our fucking problems.
Fair enough. But I’d rather think of it as a torch that has been passed on and has to be guarded and kept ablaze. Lighting it was the hardest part, but the job’s not done.
I know he’s the pope and has to talk like that, but free speech is not a “precious gift”. It’s a hard-won right and “calling for it” is not gonna protect it. I swear to Nonexisto, if this clown gets the credit after the people win the fight, I’m gonna get an aneurism.

Nice. Can I print it, though?
Semi-serious suggestion: Guix or NixOS. They’re not break-safe per se, but if they do break something, you can use the OS’ previous generations to go back to an operational state. Just… don’t let them use the commands that delete older generations.
(Semi-serious because they’re both not exactly mainstream and not eactly conventional in their setup.)

Bis wife started screaming after seeing a “profane sticker”? Sounds like an “and then everybody clapped” story to me.

On your own? Not much. You can stop using certain products, save money, and so on. But that’s mostly going to help make your individual existence a bit better/less bad. The CEO’s aren’t gonna give a flying fuck.
But our strength is in our numbers. Get organized. Maybe in a political party, maybe “just” in some sort of collective that helps in an area you care about. Help others in whatever capacity fits your abilities and your situation. And don’t expect it to be a quick victory. That will only result in disappointment. As a wise man (?) once so succinctly put it: “Apes together strong.”

The story so far: In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.
It doesn’t matter when exactly it “started”. The question should be how we get out of it. Or, more fundamentally, what actually is the problem, fundamentally? Is it a bunch of racists and bigots abusing a corrupt system to inch the US (well, we do have it in Europe too, just not so extreme yet) ever closer to fascism, or is it the underlying system of escalating exploitation and conflict that enables them?
Even if “immortality” is the sucky kind, invulnerability kind of implies that you’re immune to the aging process.
Depending on which deity we’re talking, “divine powers” is a no-brainer. Besides that: Immortality, invincibility, siphon powers. Use the time I have (i.e. all of it) to learn unarmed combat and weapon master, and become insanely rich and very intelligent, then invent implants and a powersuit (why would anyone pick those if they’re a freebie with immortality), then wait around for others who have picked different powers and siphon off their powers. Since I’m invincible, I can also swallow some plutonium and become radioactive.
So, in conclusion, I would like to be a sci-fi lich.

Don’t worry, we’re catching up at an ever increasing rate.
That’s because the concept of biological races has been thouroughly debunked. I will never understand why Anglophones still insist on using the word “race”.
That’s not how physics works, but I appreciate the thought.
Because we can make it better, even if it’s just a tiny amount. To me, that’s enough. It’s the same with daylight savings time, the imperial system (in the few places that still use it), ISO 8601 date format, and so on. Sure, every individual patch doesn’t do a whole lot, and even together the effect may not be world-altering, but I simply refuse to believe in a future where we keep these small bugs around just because we were stupid once and then were too lazy to fix them.
It also wouldn’t be starting the count at 0. But to have a coherent system with both positive and negative numbers, there needs to be a 0. Plus, you can still call the year 0 the first year. When somebody is 0 years old, they’re in their first year of their life as well.
The Russia comparison was more for feasibility, not for importance.
That’s… not the only option. We could also shift down everything below 1. Sure, that would shift some historical dates, but would not really affect any part of modern life. And we already have situations where we need to account for different calendar systems (e.g. the October Revolution actually happened in November, according to our current calendar), so we know the world doesn’t end. And when Russia switched to the Gregorian calendar, which was more complicated than adding a 0 somewhere, the world didtend either.
Just adding a year 0 would be enough. Other than that, the human era.
