i liked how, in the novelization, mccoy had tampered with the ship’s computer while spock was researching camping and had him expecting that they would be toasting marsh melons.

birds have been on the decline for decades.

so to sum up, populations of insects that feed on/harm trees are growing and more able to complete their life cycles given the warmer winters. i don’t really subscribe to the philosophy of hobbes, but this makes me think of the road and how there were just no more trees. would be a brutish existence indeed never to hear a bird sing again nor find shade beneath the branches of a towering oak.

Great shots of some cool birds! I had a hard time this year finding Green Herons in my neck of the woods. Just saw my FOY last week.

Stopped by to offer the obligatory, “peent” even though they are my Nemesis Bird #1. They were featured on the Feminist Bird Club fundraising patches this year.

I love them and their perky tail feathers. Listening to one outside my window right now. Who needs an alarm when you have a wren nearby?
