The entire Tomb Raider series, but Tomb Raider, Rise of the Tomb Raider, and Shadow of the Tomb Raider, just make her feel so believable and relatable.

Bro, learn from these words.
It’s really not that important. If you find a bug, check if the issue has already been reported. If it has, just give it a thumbs ups up to show that it’s important to you and wait.
This isn’t some kind of service you have paid to use and “deserve to get quality for”. It’s an opensource project started by people in their own free time provided to you free of charge. If you want to be productive, help out by providing useful information to the developers (complaining isn’t useful information), or donate (remember donation is not a payment for services to be rendered) and hope it’ll give the developers the opportunity to spend more time on the project, maybe even pay to get others involved.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Is Lemmy more likely to succeed than Voat? Why or why not?
0·3 years agoThe strength of the fediverse is that there can be a right wing fediverse, a left wing fediverse, a centralist fediverse, yada yada yada. Entire networks of different, unconnected instances can exist. There will probably be instances in between that act as bridges or for gathering stats.
It will be interesting to watch, but at least people will be able to join the instances with communities they like. The problem of course is that echo chambers are more likely to evolve, but it’s not like that isn’t the case right now.
And once we get instance bridged with the dark web, it could allow content from countries like China, North Korea, Iran, and other places that don’t want information getting out.

Technology@beehaw.org•Meta and Mastodon: What’s really on people’s minds?
2·3 years agoJust let these instance owners do what they want ? 🤷 If they want to pre-emptively defederate, that’s fine, let them. There will be instances happy enough to federate with them. Once there’s trouble, they’ll probably defederate.
The great thing about social media, is that you don’t have to reach everybody - you just need to reach your community. If your community isn’t on GAFAM then defederating won’t change the experience.
Nothing wrong with it. Here’s a website to help you choose the distro: https://distrochooser.de/
Personally, for gaming, I’d recomment Mint or Ubuntu. Probably your hardware will be supported. There’s also Pop!OS, which seems to be completely gaming related as well as SteamOS, but I’ve never used them.
You can run a hardware probe from the live USB to see how well the distro handles your hardware too

3·3 years agoNot if you have a consensus algorithm and the machines all return a hash of the video they encoded. If they build IPFS support then the encoding machine could upload the file there, return the IPFS content address and the server can then pick an agreed upon address.

Science@beehaw.org•A white supremacist took MDMA for a study, and it snapped him out of his beliefs: 'Why am I doing this?'
23·3 years agoOne human does not make a trend, but it is interesting. They’d have to test many more white supremacists to see if the effect will be same for the majority of test subjects.
If it were a “cure” then the right-wingers would become very scared of getting drugged.
Edit:
MDMA has, for instance, been used by the Taliban to channel connection to the divine during prayer chants, according to Nuwer.
Nuwer pointed out that Brendan’s “seemingly spontaneous change” appears to be an exception to the norm.
Read the article guys. Won’t work for everyone and could maybe even be used by White Supremacists to be more like the taliban.
