Fireship is owned by private equity if you didn’t know
Couldn’t it get flagged and manually reviewed leading to a ban?

Privacy@lemmy.ml•How much proof is there that smart tvs and phones listen to you?English
62·23 days agoKnowing what you’re watching on the screen is different than what you’re saying out loud near the TV or remote. Plus almost all TVs can run without an internet connection too, which renders this concern somewhat null

5·23 days agoThere’s no need for uploading a constant audio feed or transcript (something that would be easy for researchers to detect in the network logs) to show you an advertisement like that.
Your phone knows all the things you wrote in the post, namely: your location, that you are physically with those friends, the wifi network, the search history of everyone there. Because of all that metadata, advertisers probably know you were playing a TTRPG, maybe even the specific one

I’m not sure the people who think they can find love in AI are the people who fall in love with AI. Same principle with cults-- virtually no one joins a cult knowingly. They’re just looking for connection and find it in a weird place
The idea of not “bothering the rest of us” seems inherently flawed. They are someone’s offspring, sibling, neighbor, coworker, a voter, etc. Having folks in our communities be so isolated isn’t healthy for a functioning society

Yeah it’s like any other music streaming app
I just assume most people won’t have an easy way to tunnel into their home network if they’re out to do streaming
I’m thoroughly confused now. Are you using the Jellyfin app (or something hooked up to your server) on your phone or nah? If not, I would consider that a Syncthing-only setup, since it could be pointed to Plex or any files. No judgment and it’s fine if you disagree. I’m just curious what tools people use and how they use them

The ingenuity and innovation required to make space travel possible (and efficient) is remarkable. Definitely falls into the category of “it’s not the destination, it’s the journey.” It’s important to continue challenging ourselves as a species.
