  • Walk, lift and do stuff for your health. It’s better than eating, because once you are fit enough you can really eat what you want in quantities that you want. You learn along the way that it feels nice to be healthy too so unhealthy cravings go away.
    Spend more time with family and close friends, even if its text or voice chat on discord. Having closer relations with people is beneficial for mental health. Relations where two people want help each other flourish and grow are the best. If you like games i would suggest speedrunning - joining and posting your runs, if you like boardgames - chess or go(baduk) clubs and tournaments, if you like crafts - some workshops - like pottery or woodworking. Finding people who you can interact with in “getting better” mindset eorks wonders, and makes person more motivated.
    Learn stuff that you can make on your own - food/cooking, sewing, small maintenance stuff. Overall, “working with your hands”, is great. Not only you learn something useful, but also it gives space to be brainless for a while when peeling onions or whatnot where i feel at rest. If you are in position to get a pet from shelter and be it’s companion - do it. If you can’t - shelters usually accept volunteering. Pets teach compassion and provide comfort. Taking care of other being and learning its behaviour is fun on its own but also beneficial to reevaluate your own behaviours. Inevitably living with other living being changes a person, i think for the better. I definitely changed since i got my best friend from the shelter. Weed if you would be into it. In your case probably more of sativa to get energy and be talkative, more around the house, do small things to rythm of good music for few hours. You can lock in on task for long time.

  • Don’t drop your work before you build as much as you can from that hobby thing you want to transition into job. Closer you are to financial independence easier it gets to not act solely based on money incentive.

    Where the is will there is a way, plan out, save up and invest. Be smart with your time. Try to prepare as much beforehand, and don’t wait your job before it’s really necessary and ya got resources to sustain yourself for 12+ months. Plan for rainy day scenarios. Most small business fail, so need to prepare and plan.

  • Because thermodynamics exist. Food is compact nature way of storing energy. If you overeat, then your body will store excess energy in fat. Because it hasnt been all used. If you undereat energy is being used from for but rest of it will have to come from fat. Energy, measured in calories, had to come from something. You poop some stuff out too i would guess.

    So calorieswise proteins, carbs, or fat - doesn’t matter. This matter when talking about proper diet, person needs protein to grow, fat to syntetise some hormones, and carbs as source if quick energy. For good poop you need fiber too.

    You are correct, body uses up energy to process proteins and other matter. It is assumed overall that all of these processes are part of that body upkeep of 1400kcal daily.












  • Rice or pasta with cheap sauce and some grinded meat can sustain a person for quite a long time.

    When you cut veggies those cuttings can be a broth base, which you can refrigerate as ice cubes if you boil down water content enough.

    Research 2-3 meals that are easy for you to make and are tasty so that it becomes fun to cook.

    If you put drop or two less of washing detergent you still will have clean clothes, so it can stretch that bottle for one or two more washings.

    Cloths have natural progression from wearable outside, then wearable in home, then it becomes either cut to wiping clothes for cleaning or cover for dogs bed. I learned some rudimentary mending to be able to fix small holes or fix stretch bands in sweatpants and such.
    Socks, once other one from the pair goes to Narnia, go to cleaning utensils pile.

    Finding way to repurpose, reuse or upcycle stuff can save up some money.
    Learning basic maintenance, and how to fix stuff song the house can save up a good bit of money, and with internet it’s easy to learn.

    Trying to get most of usability and life from devices is important to get right mindset. Don’t consume, use brain, utilize stuff that you already have, realize that serotonin from experience of buying stuff is temporary and hollow in opposition to enjoying making things happen with limited resources.

    Beginning of this year i went thru my subscriptions and cut out nearly everything.

    Before going shopping i make a list of things to buy, so that i stay on track and try to speedrun whole shop thing. I rarely buy snacks and unnecessary shit now thanks to that

    Being frugal for me means cutting costs of stuff that doesn’t matter to me so that i can achieve my goals and splurge on experiences and things i want. Having a goal that you want to achieve helps a lot. I ask myself “is X going to help me with my goal of Y” or “is X more important than my goal Y”. It helps with finding strenght to be assertive.
