Yes, if I recall correctly, the last one is lit on Christmas day, though some people do it on Christmas Eve.

Here in Mexico, a predominantly Catholic country, Advent wreaths (with five candles) are definitely a thing, though I can’t say how much the tradition is still followed nowadays (I’m not a religious person). I’ve seen them in the central and southern regions, but I’m not sure about other parts of the the country. I’ve seen Advent calendars too, in churches and some houses.

Same. I’ve tried dozens of music players, but I always return to mpd, though I use Cantata as my front end. And M.A.L.P. allows me to control playback from my Android devices.
I also quite like QuodLibet, but my computer has a bug where the music randomly pauses when using Gstreamer (which QL uses), so for the most part I use mpd.

I tried Ironfox for several weeks some months ago. I like the project, but it was painfully slow, mainly because it disables JIT and some other things. (Brave also has a JIT-less mode, but I found it to be faster than Ironfox.)
Also, it comes with uBlock Origin preinstalled, which is good, but the devs enable by default a ton of lists, which contributes to the slowness. I suppose that if you have a fast device it won’t matter, but on a low to mid-range device it becomes unbearable. The best you can do is disable the preinstalled lists and use one of the modes recommended by uBlock.
I’ve wasted so many hours playing there.

There’s this heavy metal Japanese band named Aldious. Many of their songs are real bangers, like “Ground Angel” and “Yozakura”, but there are two particular songs that, as you said, get me dancing and yelling, even if they’re more “pop-ish” than the others: “Without You” and “Die for You”. They put me in a good mood every time I listen to them 😆.

I have a soft spot for two dinos because of videogames:
Giganotosaurus: Because Dino Crisis 2. I mean, I know that its size was greatly exaggerated, but I’ll never forget how damn frightening it was when you were about to fight the T. rex and suddenly, bam!, a fucking thing twice it’s size appeared and kicked its ass like it was nothing.
Utahraptor. Many years ago, there was a little game called “Primal Prey”, where you could go back in time and hunt for dinos. I thought (again) that the T. rex would be the most frightening, but when I got to the part where you have to hunt for the Utahraptor, oh boy, I almost pissed myself because this dude appeared behind me out of nowhere and killed me in an instant. Since then I’ve really liked this species.

All of my WiFi names have been taken from the game American McGee’s Alice (the first one): “Pool of Tears”, “Skool Daze”, “Hollow Hideaway”, “Mystifying Madness”, etc. Sadly, all of my neighbors are computer illiterate, so they always leave the router’s default name.
Yes, the speed of DDG Lite is amazing. There’s also DDG HTML, which is very fast too. I would like Ecosia to have a lite mode as well.
You can also use http://noai.duckduckgo.com/. It’s the regular search, but with AI disabled, and doesn’t require cookies.
As a biologist, I’m offended that there isn’t Darwin, nor Mayr, nor Lesquereux, nor Jay Gould nor Margulis.
So I take Leonardo. I also like to draw and paint. I would like to say Marie, but unfortunately I’m not immune to radiation.
How about Lollypop? It’s one of my favorite players, although is not updated very often. There’s also Quod Libet and Pragha, both of which are very capable. Or if you like something more aesthetically pleasing, Gapless is a good choice. Many people also like Clementine and its more updated fork, Strawberry, but personally I don’t like their UI and UX.
Also, https://nekoweb.org/.
Uh… This reminds me of that one doujin… 🤔

I used one called Go!Zilla. I remember the UI being somewhat similar to Winamp, and that I liked to configure it to think that my connection speed was 14.4 kbps so the “speed graph” was always in the “high speed download” zone when I was downloading at 50 kbps 😅.

I love and use the Unsolved Mysteries intro song for calls, and a generic one from my phone for alarms.

I have a refrigerator from around 1988 or 1989 that still works perfectly. Around 1999, it stopped working, so we bought a new one. We didn’t throw away the old fridge because we used it to store plates and cutlery, but we were sure that it was completely broken. Then, last year, a technician saw it and told us that only a component needed to be replaced for it to work again. Lo and behold, the damn thing was revived, and after a two-decade slumber it worked again as if no time had passed.
I still have one of those! 😆

Didn’t use it too much, tho. Never installed it on bare metal, only in a VM, and back in those days I was in my distro-hopping phase (I was discovering Arch), so I tested it and quickly forgot about it.

Actually, I would really like to find a similarly non-bland proportional character to use beside it.
Well, there’s Fira Sans, but I don’t know if it’s what you want. I like to use it for things like slides and titles, and I’ve used it as a GUI typography for some time.
