I’m guessing you can taste the impurities missing from distilled water. It’s probably closer to being able to tell it’s not quite right then an actual taste, but that’s close enough to be able to call it taste.

Linux Gaming@lemmy.world•Valve amended the Steam survey for December 2025 - Linux actually hit another all-time highEnglish
311·15 days agoAs someone who semi-recently made the jump (june) to linux, you need a lot of time to do it, even for something that would seem trivial to an experienced user like going to mint. Most people don’t have the time to do something like that. New systems built by curious nerds will probably be where linux gets most of its new users. (so it’s a shame no one can afford to build one)
It’s linear in the same way a sony/ubisoft open world is where there is a single main path but there is a massive quanitity of side content as well. The main difference between bg3 and AAA open worlds is that the side content is better than the average ubisoft side content and the main path can take different routes in different playthroughs.
In my gcse class my teacher made us do this test when we were studying civil rights. No one passed it.
Iirc, when it asks you to draw a line around something you fail the question if you draw a circle around it.
That’s how deliberately impossible these tests were. No one can pass it without looking at the answers first.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What emulators do you use to run different games, for example, on Windows/Linux/macOS and Android?English
2·24 days agoRetrodeck is great! It’s only issue for me is that they are picky with the emulators they use (not a fault of the project, since it’s a flatpak it’s probably done to save space) so the only options for switch is to use a ryujinx fork (accurate but poor performance) or hunt down an old yuzu appimage since they support it but nintendo stopped them from bundling it with the flatpak.
This is just evil

What’s the point of putting countries with no data on the map?

3·1 month agoIt’s definetly not for everyone but space station 14 can be a lot of fun.
From my experience with word, ignore spelling mistake is a lie, it always starts complaining again eventually (and changing spelling from us to uk almost never works)
Place names are cheating. Almost all of them come from old/other languages that have very little resemblance to modern english.
I think they did this last year as well and people were just as mad, looks like the executives are determined to cause droughts, even if it means ruining their reputation :(

PC Gaming@lemmy.ca•Larian publishing chief says "there aren't currently any plans for a new Divinity Original Sin 3 game" as trademarks matching The Game Awards tease point to Divinity revivalEnglish
2·1 month agoI think this was said before the announcement to get people speculating.
Not much has been said about the new divinity but from my understanding, divinity was a series of games made by larian before divinity original sin with a much darker tone and more similar to an arpg than a turn based rpg like original sin or baldurs gate 3, but who knows which type of rpg the new divinity will be. My guess is turn based because that is what they are known for due to the success of bg3.
I think they are in the same universe. One look at larian’s games on steam tells me they just don’t know how to name games properly.
Not quite the same idea but try reading “jekyll and hyde”
Didn’t they start using cloudflare to protect against constant ddos attacks causing downtime? Out of both options, having downtime from external servers failing is less of a headache to the admins (they are volunteers, this is the most important factor) than having downtime from internal servers failing.
Payphones have not been around/in good condition for a very long time in the uk. Hollywood has created more mundane shit before, why wouldn’t they do the same for payphones?
It feels like every uk news site does it. The guardian and the independent are the ones I have trouble with the most. Reader mode “fixes” it though.
