I love ceremonies ! I wish more things in life had a similar sort of etiquette about them, it would make things so much simpler !

For the ceremonies we have, I think it’s a matter of not knowing the right measure of things. I think too much importance is put on speeches, and not enough on ritual actions. Ceremonies aren’t boring, speeches are boring !

I like the special clothes, I like that sometimes there’s special music, you have to say certain phrases… People have well defined roles, there’s an air of decorum and seriousness (and oh how I wish people were generally more serious and engaged with things…), often there are flowers and other special decor all around…

Honestly, I really like ceremonies. They’re fun. I want more of them ! But fewer speeches.

I use NixOS but I have a few flatpaks. They’re not my preferred packaging option (nix is) but they work decently well.

I would have never predicted AI would mean we get a million front-ends and control panels for shit no one needs, but now that we’re here it kinda makes sense.

I was like you, and I ended up choosing Steam, mainly because I can play the game on the Steam Deck that way.

If a game I own ever gets delisted on Steam : first off, it’s unusual for Steam to remove it from your library ; secondly, I would just pirate a copy if that were ever to happen.

Any game for which that strategy fails, would also never have a physical release on PlayStation anyway.

Also, Steam sales (or key resellers) are cheaper than second hand disks ; and I never sold any of my physical games anyway (though I might now that I re-bought them on Steam 😂)

That is factually wrong. Most games are entirely on the disk, albeit in version 1.0 ; you can check on DoesItPlay, they usually have the info.
