The Krishna temple in Burnaby used to have a wonderful vegan restaurant. Absolutely amazing food.

I mean… it is.
Looking at this directly from a viewpoint of what is “natural” for the human body, being vegan is unnatural.
Being an omnivore is. Our entire digestive system is such that the natural diet of the human body is an omnivorous one and it does best when treated as such. And that means a small amount of animal fats, proteins, trace minerals, and amino acids in one’s diet.
I’m not going to argue morals or ethics, because that wasn’t what the post was about. It’s what’s about what is “natural.”
Yes, you may disagree with me. Strenuously, and just know that I respect you and hope that you and yours have an excellent day wherever you happen to be on this flaming cannonball of a planet we call home.

Cool. The thin kind cut into squares I can get here. It’s the deep dish no one offers and your description kinda explains why
I’ve never had Chicago style pizza and I have no idea where to get one here on the west coast of Canada.

Seriously, someone can be the epitome of what you despise and still be correct about something.

Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•All this produce is going to spoil at the food bank where I volunteerEnglish
3·10 months agoWell, all the Nestle stuff gets sent back to them. Pretty much all the big name cereal outfits have orders that damaged products are to be sent to a salvage company.
Happily most cheese and sliced meats can be donated, plus we generally send 8-10 shopping carts of baked goods and produce directly from us to them every day

26·10 months agoI’m one of the returns clerks in a Costco. First thing we do every morning is process stuff to send the food bank. It irks me how much stuff we aren’t allowed to send because the manufacturer won’t allow it. Even despite that we send a lot every day. Everything that does spoil at the food bank goes to a local pig farm, who donates pig products back to the food bank whenever he can.

Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world, The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;

21·11 months agoNo, a man with the right to be innocent until proven guilty is being presumed guilty before due process can be done.
There is a difference

Games@lemmy.world•6* months away now. If you're on 10, do you plan to upgrade? Make the jump to Linux?English
1·1 year agoPossibly/Probably but as I said. Right now win 10 runs all my productivity, gaming and streaming software such as OBS and Veadotube.
They run and run well. I have literally no incentive to switch to either a Linux distro or win11. If that changes, then I’ll consider changing my OS, but until then…why would anyone?

53·1 year agoI have no plans to either update to win11 or change back to chanting magic spells at my computer to get it to work (Ubuntu, many years ago).
My computer works and does everything I want it to. Basic internet security and reasonable precautions are sufficient for a low level user like me to stay safe.
I work at a Costco in Western Canada. Today (28th) was a little slower than slower than normal, but well inside the normal ups and downs we see. All of us are curious to see if the 1st is busier to make up for it.

Canada@lemmy.ca•Dying to win: Canadian provinces are expanding legal gambling despite one death every nine days
1·1 year agoAre these death tragic? Yes. But 40 deaths a year isn’t something that’s going to sound a call to arms. Perhaps money would be best put toward more mental health services for men, whose rate of suicides far outstrips that of women but have significantly fewer resources specifically for them.

It gets better
