As wgbirne already said, the admin has more important real life stuff to do unfortunately. If I understood it correctly, the lack of storage also killed the database, leaving it in an inconsistent state. In addition to that there seems to be an issue with the backups so no easy rollback and probably a lot of manual fixing needed.
Undaunted@feddit.detoLemmy Support@lemmy.ml•feddit.de seems to have issues. lemmyverse.net shows 99% uptime though. Anyone know why?
2·2 years agoIt seems to be an issue where ImageMagick filled up the drive, which in turn killed the database. After freeing the space, the database has now an inconsistent state and throws errors. It also looks like the db backups are corrupt. For whatever reason I’m still able to use this account through the Sync app.
I have these information from their matrix room https://matrix.io/#/#feddit:tilde.fun

Technology@beehaw.org•You're Not Imagining It: Google Search Results Are Getting Worse, Study Finds
21·2 years agoI’m using Kagi for quite some time now and it’s awesome. But recently I was using a different machine and did not have my login credentials at hand so I used Google and holy shit I didn’t remember Google giving such aweful results. I was not able to find what I was looking for. Then searched the same thing on my phone through Kagi and the solution was in the first three results. So yes I also feel that Google search is getting worse.
Just because violet light triggers both red and blue receptors in our eyes, that doesn’t mean there is only discrete red and blue light hitting them. It’s just that light with 380nm to 450nm wavelength triggers both typed of receptors. So there is violet light.

A Boring Dystopia@lemmy.world•Reactionaries and inconsistency are a match made in heaven
211·2 years agoThere’s an estimation done in Germany every year. And the result is always that only around 4% of the the people on welfare abuse it. Compared to the damage that is done to the state by clever tax evasion of super rich people, these are peanuts. But going after these 4% of welfare abusers is of course easier so that’s why they put a lot effort into it.

Technology@lemmy.world•Google admits Spotify pays no Play Store fees because of a secret deal | TechCrunchEnglish
1·2 years agoYes. I know a bank where you’re trading fees are lower or even zero, depending on the size of your share portfolio.
I have a different password for each service I use. Each password is 30+ characters long and completely random with letters, numbers and special characters. There’s no way I could remember any of them and they’d be a hell to type out manually. I use KeePass on every device I own and it’s synced over my NAS. So it’s super convenient and no risk for leaks.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Are there any instances that disable downvoting?
261·3 years agoYes, I think Beehaw for example has no downvotes (or doesn’t show them).
I have also been looking for a while. You have to open the sandwich menu in the upper left corner. Then there is a dropdown at the top and when you open that, you can click on “Add account”.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Is Lemmy your first time on the Fediverse?English
2·3 years agoI tried friendica years ago as an alternative to Facebook, back when Facebook was still for connecting with friends and family. But since none of my friends were interested in it, I quickly lost interest myself.
I checked out Mastodon when Musk bought Twitter, even though I never actively used Twitter. I don’t use it as social media, I use it for news aggregation.
Lemmy is now the first Fediverse software I actively use and I really like it so far.
