Yup and there was generally a way around it even though most often it involved rooting the phone or using USB passthrough.

2·3 years agoLol she actually wants to go watch the movie about child trafficking. Personally I want to drive 3 hours to watch Oppenheimer on 70mm because I didn’t know it was even a thing before this movie. Though all imax was created decently equal 😂

3·3 years agoBut wouldn’t trump have to admit guilt to be pardoned? I don’t think he could do that.

5·3 years agoI(31/m) have a buddy(25/m) who gives me shit for pirating stuff sometimes because he says I’m stealing from the creators. But I’m not because I wasn’t gonna pay for it in the first place 😂 I’m more than happy to pay for things and do all the time. I just cancelled my audible sub a couple days ago because I got an email that my credits were going to expire and I needed to use them soon. Like what? I paid you for those. So I just used them on the series I’m currently listening to and spent the rest of the night figuring out how to host my own audible 😂

2·3 years agoSwitch from chrome to Firefox about a year ago. Firefox certainly opens faster on my PC but I don’t notice much difference on my android phone.

11·3 years agoI know the feeling. I hate Netflix with a passion but my SO uses it. I have a Plex server full of stuff and constantly adding and showed her how. I cancel Netflix every month though 😂 can usually make it a day or 2 passed when it was supposed to renew before she uses it again and resubscribes.

12·3 years agoCount me in on the group. Have been a family subscriber for awhile. Daughter is 7 and autistic so when an ad pops up she always installs the games then they are horrible and piss her off or she wants me to spend money on it because they force it down your throat. Easier to just give Google some money and not have to deal with it.

Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•I wonder where police cars get their gasoline from?
1·3 years agoMaybe. But in that case they would be exempt at a normal pump as well. Gas station by my house accept tax exempt transactions for the cemetery my family maintains.

2·3 years agoStill pay taxes even by the tanker. Can still get a lower price but fuel taxes are fuel taxes doesn’t really matter how you buy it.
Yeah that’s exactly my point. Other guys was listing all these things the signal has stored but they really just don’t want access to any of it.
But it doesn’t though. That information has been subpoenaed from signal in the past. They don’t have access to it to give. This is public information.
I mean it can be. You can put anything you want there and send it on it’s way

3·3 years agoYeah personally when I had it I either also got sick at the same time or it royally fucked up my whole body. Like bed ridden for 2 days and throwing up. Ruined half my vacation 😂 lesson learned though.

15·3 years agoYeah I would think if anything this is more sustainable because you can just easily swap the parts that need upgrading instead of having to scrap the whole laptop.

Technology@lemmy.world•Framework Sold Out of 3 Batches of Laptop 16 in Less Than 3 Hours.English
9·3 years agoNever heard of them before this but the name and sold out had me curious so I looked them up. If I was in the market for laptop this would for sure be my top choice. I greatly prefer my desktop and anything I can’t do there I just do on my phone so everytime I get the itch for a laptop I regret buying it because it ends up just sitting.

Just got an email from proton today about their “lifetime deal” for proton pass I currently use bitwarden and Firefox relay but I’ve been debating trying to drop my Gmail account and switch everything to my proton account. Thinking it would be silly to pay Firefox $12 a year just for relay when I can get that and more from proton for the same price.
All of that to say how exactly does the email alias work and can I set a custom email subdomain to just have an alias get created whenever an email is sent to the email I give someone without me having to go manually create it?
