I haven’t watched it in probably 20 years. Past time for a rewatch, which is good, because there’s nothing on TV ATM.

As Patrick explained in the Empire interview, the first time they filmed the run at the mall, before the semi-truck sequence, he closed the gap on Furlong entirely. His own words, included in the viral clip: “That’s me. First time I did the run, I caught the kid.
James Cameron confirms, BUT, he says it happened when the bike was pulled by the camera car:
I rode a Shogun 1000 back in the late 80s. To me that, and this, is what a bike should look like. Classic.
It was exactly like this, but blue:

However, the color scheme of this bike is the same as the Shogun 600 that I rode previously. That bike was stolen, which I why I bought the 1000.
I think the kid has already it out.

6·1 day agoEh. Big difference in motivation between high schoolers taking a test and adults voting. Also, the circles on the ballots are larger and spaced farther apart.

Half Life Grabbity Gun. More useful than just a weapon and no problem finding ammo.
The Zero Point Energy Field Manipulator, if you’re not into the whole brevity thing.

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•Better to just turn around and leave, if you can
19·2 days agoI got sent home for the day because I responded to the wrong email. I clicked on the wrong email and wrote a response that didn’t make any sense.
From home, I sent one last email to work saying I wouldn’t be returning to work. That was the last thing I said them. That really pissed them off, they tried so hard to get me to come back in for an “exit interview”, which is just what they use to cover their ass. They even withheld a bonus check. By law, they can’t withhold your last paycheck owed, though.

I’m surprised more people don’t point this out.

In my defense, the comm is No Stupid Questions, not No Stupid Comments.
That’s their secret. They only logged in to post this meme, they didn’t read anything.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Why did no one ever think about automating most of the diagnosis in healthcare, instead of being dependant on a doctor?
71·3 days agoIn the future the poor will only have access to garbage AI which will end up killing many people through unreported mistakes, while the rich will still be using human doctors. The same way that the rich send their kids to private schools that teach the traditional way, while the poor are left with the mess we have now.
Also, the idea that “no one thought of this” is just ludicrous.

13·3 days agoI predict it gets canceled.
I suppose if the AI bubble pops, and memory and CPU prices crash, then maybe it will happen. But, that’s going to be very hard on the entire economy, so maybe it will be canceled for that reason, instead.
