A cat in a wealthy, loving home. I’m not social enough to be a dog, and the way my cats laze about like they don’t have to worry about rent really induces a special kind of envy. I don’t care if I’m stupid or ugly or even a little deformed as long as it’s not painful. I just want to be a lazy kitty who gets random cuddles but I never expected to engage. And then when I do engage everyone swoons.

As much as I enjoy the fact that my active parenting years are over, I have many regrets about being a young and stupid parent. Not sure we were ever ready for that shit.

So fuck the refugees but TFWs are fine? What the fuck, Carney? I don’t care about how much the demand for refugee status has increase, those numbers can be directly subtracted from the amount of TFWs we bring in. They can complain about fraud all they like but IMO it’s a ridiculous argument to make while ever corporations are allowed to scam our country with temporary foreign workers. I’d much rather high refugee numbers and immigration numbers than high temporary worker numbers.

You are lucky tbh. So many “local” newspapers are owned by giant corporations. Here in Canada we even have a boatload that are owned by those same American corporations. I helps push narratives among people who are more likely to be isolated or disenfranchised and it works really well.

I’m not sure if it worked or not but I read that storing them in a paper bag will help them ripen a bit faster, but not “I need it for this supper recipe tonight” fast. I figure if it didn’t work it was a pretty harmless hack and I still had avocado, I just waited until it was ready to do the recipe I wanted.

People got mad about those being built here and burned a bunch down out of spite. They expect us to believe that the unhoused people burned them down but I just can’t believe that someone with no home would intentionally burn down the only shelter they had. And if they did burn them down, why haven’t they burned down the two shelters that are always full?

I need to get my hair done but I’m too anxious to be confrontational in almost any way so I usually have to awkwardly nod and agree during the appointment because I’m also too anxious for conversation. Being able to make that choice without having to feel like I’m an asshole would help.

In all my time living in Alberta (34 years, but not anymore thankfully) I never met an Albertan who wasn’t happy to shit on Quebec for being separatist.

I am a little excited to not have to change our clocks back come November. I know experts say we should have stayed on Standard time and I probably would have preferred that, but I don’t think it’s going to make more of a difference than the torture of changing our clocks and fucking up our sleep twice a year. We can work around excess daylight, we can’t work around screwing up the timing of our body processes. It would be foolish of the other provinces to not follow suit.

I have always been a little bit jealous of people who can be sold on religion. It must be nice to have the comfort that comes with it, especially if you’re the type to ignore all the rules and think that you’re going to the good place just because you had faith.

I am not scared of dying exactly, I’m afraid that something might come after when I just want to sleep. What if a religion got it right? Good place or bad, I’m not down with that. I want finality in my end.

Drivers who don’t stop for pedestrians - especially the ones who pretend to not see you as if it means they don’t have to stop at the stop sign.

And people who don’t clean up after their dogs. It’s worse in the winter time when it’s already difficult enough to navigate the city.

As a millenial I grew up on the internet and I watched my own children navigate an ever evolving internet, especially social media. My home did not allow social media before 16 as I agree there is an age limit. The problem is how do we verify this? Requiring ID for anything on the internet is a slippery slope that politicians seem all too happy to throw us down.

Anyone who thinks the liberals are anything further left than centre needs to open their eyes. Cuts, reductions, however you want to frame the loss of funds doesn’t matter - what matters is the CBC is the only defense we have against the encroaching American media force. Even a lot of the small town newspapers are owned by American corporations. Stop giving the rich handouts, stop pandering to Trump, and fund our fucking country already.

Exactly, so municipalities already had this ability. Basically they’re only making it known that no municipality is obligated to fall in line. Logically there’s no reason that anyone would choose to stay with the time change though, especially if Alberta is considering dropping it too.

I’m the kind of person who is very particular about the music I listen to, the wrong music is over stimulating - so I love streaming in that I can curate my playlist and have new music recommended to me based on what I like. I honestly don’t know how I would find new artists if it wasn’t for streaming - not like there’s an indie folk radio station I can just listen to…

I feel bad that the artists don’t get paid much though and I was considering switching to buying albums again, but I think that might make it so I support a few artists more but a lot of artists I like would consequently be supported less.
