Selfhosted@lemmy.world•[Solved] I want to ditch Nextcloud notesEnglish
4·3 years agoNotesnook is not ready for self-hosting yet, but it’s up next on their roadmap. I’ve been trying it out in advance and it seems to work ok. The only issue I have with it is that it logs you out of the apps way too often.

2·3 years agoIf you’ve used Anytype, can you share your experience? I have an account and I’d like to move over some of my Notion content, but haven’t had time to try it yet.

7·3 years agoIs there any risk to your Google account if you connect it from an unofficial app like this? Seeing my YouTube history is great and all, but getting my gmail account banned would be bad, to put it mildly…
Personal Finance has very little activity, sadly…

It’s got better recently, but it used to be that you can only do that sometimes, and it wasn’t clear when the gesture would work and when it wouldn’t. Fortunately, it seems that most apps have added support for that recently, so it’s closer to the Android back gestures.

Technology@beehaw.org•Meta discontinues Messenger Lite for Android, it will be unavailable after Sep 18. Users need to install regular Messenger app instead
32·3 years agoYes, and they constantly change how parts of the UI work, most often getting more in the way of efficient actual messaging… It’s really bad.
It’s good. Just keep in mind that it hasn’t been updated in a while…

1·3 years agoIt’s recently been bought by a generic mobile app development company. This thread has more discussion on the topic.
They haven’t. The thread linked is from 2 years ago.

2·3 years agoThanks! I’ve been happy with 7-Zip for Windows, but what you’re describing sound like an upgrade with few downsides, if any. I’ll try it next time I get the chance!
It used to be the same on the old site, where there was a wider distribution of opinions. It’s interesting to see it here, too, where most opinions seemee bias to one side.

9·3 years agoNo one cares of it’s obvious how it immediately affects them. The problem with uploading sensitive data to the Internet is more subtle, because it usually doesn’t affect you right away. But once you’ve uploaded it, it will be there for many years waiting to be breached…

Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•"Sponsored recommendations": I pay for Spotify Premium, and yet somehow I'm still the product?English
6·3 years agoI haven’t tried all of those, but I like Deezer. It plays music and it’s much less pushy about podcasts or other crap that Spotify always clutters your start page with. The queue interface is also simpler to use. The only downside I see is that search is noticeably slower than Spotify on desktop.

Thanks for your work. I look forward to installing this soon!
Do you have any plans to support importing from similar services such as Raindrop, Omnivore, or Shiori?
