config files are a bandaid Sorry I am a bit confused, are you want me to use the config files or not?
They actively prevent learning - config files are a bandaid, although pam, like selinux, fstab, crypttab are painful ones to make a mistake in but the good news is often fixing them is booting into a live cd and changing it, so make backups.
My goal is to get my life in order, not to become a half sysadmin. So I want the safest and most reliable solution to solve my problems

Thank you,
Is there some CLI/GUI implementation of this where I don’t have to write all the configs and other stuff my self and maybe make mistakes?
I am not a lawyer but from my reading the wording of the GPL/AGPL is a lot more clear and its also harder to circumvent then the EUPL
I would prefer the AGPLv3-or-later if you want a strong copyleft license
How likely is it to break the system with it?
So that you understand the point.
If I would be on Windows, I would ask for a Windows solution

I never heard that any phone got stolen

When I was in school the teacher’s were seizing the phone if they caught you with it in class and sometimes require your parents to pick it up after school
I never blamed Linux for it, I would have the same problem with Windows or MacOS.
But since I use Linux, I ask for a solution that works on Linux
Having multiple romantic relationships at the same time sounds very stressful to me
How can I look for what a specific user got banned (wihtout searching the entire history) ?
Is there rep farming on lemmy?
I thought that Karma or total up/down vote accounts are not a thing here?
I’m pretty sure the packages are built as unprivileged users in a sandbox, and you can also restrict what users can use certain Nix features.
Are Nix packages sandboxed by default?
Psychologically the carrot is better than the stick, meaning you’ll keep fighting the lock-out mechanism, eventually resenting it and removing it.
The logout mechanism just needs to though me out of my way and take at least 5 minutes (better more) to circumvent, this will probably be enough for me to do the right thing.
Having an alert to remind you that you wanted to stop will be more pursuasive. (I have a “go to bed” alarm with a gentle, gradually increasing volume on my phone)
I tried this for many times, but ended up just dismising the alarms because my will is weak

1·2 months agoI think if the license is revocable, then you never really own even a copy.
I only fully trust licenses that use wording like: "All rights granted under this License are granted for the term of copyright on the Program, and are irrevocable provided the stated conditions are met. " (from GPLv3) “Grant of Copyright License. Subject to the terms and conditions of this License, each Contributor hereby grants to You a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, no-charge, royalty-free, irrevocable copyright license to reproduce, prepare Derivative Works of, publicly display, publicly perform, sublicense, and distribute the Work and such Derivative Works in Source or Object form.” (from ApacheV2)
I do them with Linux, why is this so hard to understand?

I don’t really hate cooking, but since I am always late on my schedule and can’t afford 30 minutes cooking + 20 minutes cleaning:
I am a big fan of food that is very low in required work like:
