Music@lemmy.world•I HEARD THE BIRDS AT THE BEGINNING OF MGMTs "Time to Pretend"English
2·17 days agoI was in woods. After looking up bird calls, I think the echo was caused by the woods themselves, and I just happen to be in an area that gave the same echo pattern as the song.

2·19 days agoGta 5 would be fine. Its got some unique gamemodes with FiveM, and like 992526737373773 empty RP servers.

- Roblox (It’s a sandbox)
- Skyrim (It’s a heavily mod-able medieval RPG)
- Portal 2 (It’s literally anything at this point: a web server, a game engine, a fucking computer, a lot is possible when the right people crack it open)

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•How bad is it really to listen to music with headphones? My mother told me if I keep doing that I'd go deaf... Is that fearmongering?
12·25 days agoMy mother told me, someday, I will buy galleys with good oars, sail to distant shores. Stand up on the prow, noble barque I steer. Steady course to the haven, hew many foe-men. Hew many foe-men.

PC Gaming@lemmy.ca•Our first look at the Steam Machine, Valve’s ambitious new game consoleEnglish
1·27 days agoAnd much like the Steam Deck, allows more freedom than just playing games. It enables use of the computer itself unlike consoles of the past. You buy an Xbox or a PS, and youre restricted on its use.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Do air purifiers really reduce dust much?
291·1 month ago- Only dust in the air that passes through it
- Only if the filter is maintained
- Surface dust is unaffected
Its a noticeable amount, but not likely all of it

1·1 month agoFrom what im told, the transmitters lie dormant most of the time (at least for gas). Only when they receive a signal do they send a signal, except when they are activated by a technician. When activated, they broadcast a signal to reach either another device on the network, or a reciever like the one in op’s pic.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•What's the name of the early-mid 2000's song that sounds like Beyonce, starts with a "dun...dun... dun DUN!" guitar part, and the singer makes this "dabudabudabu" sound in a soft way?
218·1 month agoChatGPT:
Beyoncé – “Don’t Hurt Yourself” (has that angry, distorted rock-guitar R&B mix, intense shouting, and spaced riffs)
Halsey – “Nightmare” (pop/R&B fusion with shouting vocals and electronic guitar bursts)
Demi Lovato – “Heart Attack” (that mix of pop-R&B and rock guitar stabs with powerful belting)
FKA twigs – “Cellophane” or “Two Weeks” (more ethereal, but has that contrast between angelic vocals and sharp production)

Plausibly feasible, but there would be more people using the service than letting the service borrow their hardware for processing or memory. I imagine it would work like a botnet, where if a user generates a prompt, their machine would borrow other nearby machines to process the command efficiently. So, in order to make it a fair service, perhaps the software does a POST and only operates if you meet a minimum hardware specification, and a stable internet connection.
