Natively you’d be able to run VLC on a good day if you’re lucky, but everything else will be online with a subscription attached.

2·2 months agoI mean for me it was a recent decision to delete for-profit and algorithmic social media. But that was internally driven as I realised they were making me more miserable and I couldn’t stomach the advertising anymore. But I’ve always failed to replicate that feeling in other people who are stuck in a mixture of sunk cost fallacy and boiled frog status, no idea how to do it consistently.

The main problem with new YouTube alternatives is that creators rely on Google for income, switching to a new platform means becoming destitute. No premium content means no big audience means new platforms fail. It’s the one social media I really don’t see having its monopoly broken.


China haven’t had a war since the 70s, so until they decide to go for Taiwan I’m cool with them at this point.
