I had the same experience trying to get a game (Stepmania) to work on Fedora. I could not resolve the damn dependencies. 3 hours later I found a flatpak of the game and it just worked immediately. I think I’m sold.

Ah, I’m fairly limited to having had well water and Columbus water (in Ohio anyway) and Columbus water wasn’t bad at all.

I think a large part of why Ohio is so bad is because we don’t run city water very far outside of any city. That and the well water quality suffers from higher sulfur content in many parts of the state.
