2·2 months agoIf you mean you can’t get the lion guy out of the campsite, then I think it may be because you have to invite the first campsite visitor to live on your island. He might stay there till you do.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What are some of your favorite songs in a language you do not speak?
8·2 months agoI don’t speak any Irish, but I am obsessed with Kneecap at the moment. Some of their lyrics include English of course, some tracks are fully in Irish. Either way, they are great!

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Is it normal I feel embarrassed about being female sometimes because of feminine smells I don't want to be associated with?
33·3 months agoSome people with penises can have very bad hygiene, and this too results in bad smells. Trying to make this specific to women is just misogyny.
I just had to tweak the permissioms for MobilePay, I cannot remember exactly which, but I think it was something about allowing it to use the Play Store integrity layer? It was a quick fix in any case, and they have some advice on the Graphene site.
For banking Revolut works with no issues. I have not tried my main bank, I never use their app, always do my banking on my laptop anyway.
Good luck. I switched a long while back now, and I love it. I went back to using a phone cover with space for a physical payment card, and I honesty never miss having Google Pay.
There were a couple of other items specific to Denmark that I had issues with, one I solved and it now works (MobilePay), the other I replaced with a dongle (MitID). Outside of those two, everything else worked flawlessly from the start.
There is a lot more control available to you, and I’ve found the settings and user experience very easy to figure out.

Fitness@lemmy.world•How can I figure out if I need kcal surplus or deficit ?
4·4 months agoThere is not one workout split that is categorically “better”. You have to start with your goals, then look at things like how long you can realistically spend at the gym when you go, and how many times a week you can go. The combination of those factors define the best suited split and programme for you.
What you need, no matter the split, is consistency, and progressive overload.

Fitness@lemmy.world•How can I figure out if I need kcal surplus or deficit ?
7·4 months agoIt really depends what your goals are. Do you want to be slimmer? Or do you want to be thicker/ wider/ more muscular?
You may have built some muscle, but it takes a long time to build enough for it to be obviously visible.
So if your goal is to look more muscular, keep going. And make sure you are doing progressive overload, perhaps revamp your split or your programme, if you feel progress has stalled. If building muscle is your goal, I would also consider dropping one or both of your cardio days, to do more resistance sessions- you could then switch to PPL maybe
I agree Bob Vylan are punk. Saw them live a few weeks ago in a small venue in Sweden, and they put on a fantastic show.
Not sure if they are strictly punk, but certainly adjacent: Propagandhi have a huge catalogue of great music. They came out with a new album this year, and its my top album for the year. Its a mix of political and highly introspective lyrics, and the sound is amazing!
Gorgeous photo! Coron is cool. Great wreck diving around there, plus that amazing cave dive.

Gaming@beehaw.org•Weekly “What are you playing” Thread || Week of August 17th
2·8 months agoBOTW is one of my all time favorite games. I hope you give it another chance. If it helps, there is no one right way to do things, so no need to feel stupid.
Yes, the new album (At Peace) is amazing. I’ve had it on repeat since it was released.

Patient Gamers@sh.itjust.works•Weekly Recommendations Thread: What are you playing this week?
3·1 year agoThis is my plan too - going to use the Easter break to kick off a new playthrough of BG3, can’t wait!
Took a day off from the gym yesterday, which was needed, and kind of a win in itself.
But the real win was noticing that I missed working out, and being excited to get down the gym today.
I’m so happy to have built this habit to a point that it’s something I genuinely miss if I don’t go.

Gaming@beehaw.org•Adult gamers of Lemmy how do you find time to game without being exhausted of the screen?
1·1 year agoI play pretty much exclusively on handheld these day. The last thing I want to do after a long day working, is to sit at my desk some more.
I have a Switch and a Steamdeck, both are fantastic for different purposes, and both let me game while relaxing on the sofa or anywhere else.
I usually bring one of then when I travel for work as well, great for killing time in airports or while flying. I’d highly recommend the Steamdeck for your situation - it’s definitely worth it.
There is nothing magical about a 7 day week that means you have to fit your programming to it.
I do a kind of modified PPL, effectively PLPL, because strong legs is a priority to me. So it’s a 4 day split. I usually train 6 days a week, but sometimes 5, sometimes 7.
So in a given week I may hit my glutes and hamstrings once, but back twice. Next week would be opposite. Over the course of a month or longer, it evens out, and I get plenty of frequency in for each body part.
I have been on a nostalgia kick, listening to mostly 90s punk. Turns out a lot of songs written during the Bush era feel highly relevant now (ex NOFX, Bad Religion, Rancid, Social Distortion, Dropkick Murphy’s, Choking Victim, among others).
This also lead me to looking into other related bands that I didn’t listen to before. Currently I am really enjoying discovering the back catalogue and new releases of both Rise Against and Propagandhi.

I do not always carry my wallet, but i have a credit card in a compartment in the back of my phone case. Works just as well as google pay for me.
