I think it’s safe to assume she wrote something like [insert date here]. That seems like a pretty obvious explanation to me anyways.

21·4 months agoGood points! I think I’m leaning slightly towards the Pixel at the moment. It’s true that while I’m not interested in a custom ROM now that could change down the line.

31·4 months agoGood question, I assume that both OneUI and Pixel Android support the old three button navigation as well as gestures, but I’m not certain.
edit: Upon looking into it I can confirm that android 16 (and its derivative presumably) support three button navigation.
They’re not denying that happens in England, just pointing out that it functionally happens in the US too. So I’m not really sure what your point is.

10·11 months agoMy understanding is that not saving window size and placement is a limitation of Wayland right now (for security reasons that it’s trying to address rather than ignore like xorg I think?). I think it’s something that’s planned to be added eventually, but who knows when that might be. It is frustrating in the meantime I agree.
Take all this with a large grain of salt of course, I am by no means an expert on the matter and am just repeating what I read when I looked into it myself a year ago or so.

9·1 year agoI thought that part of it at least was that much like existing life has a harder time breaking down these mirror proteins the same is true in reverse. So any life that was mirror protein based would struggle with consuming and gaining energy. As such the current protein chirality basically won by being first to market. That being said I don’t see why that would hamper reverse chirality photosynthesis, and I don’t really know what I’m talking about so perhaps your suggestion is more convincing after all.
It is terribly worded, so it’s unnecessarily confusing and unclear, but it means ‘nobody says (or does) anything’, thus indicating that the second action is unprompted.

News@lemmy.world•The 'bias machine': How Google tells you what you want to hear
4·1 year agoYa, a bit, I guess. I just don’t think talking down to someone is ever really a good way to communicate (unless the interaction is in fact adversarial and that’s the whole point). That being said I suppose I also get that sometimes it’s desirable to express exasperation, even if it’s not constructive or polite.

7·1 year agoOk, so I don’t disagree with anything you’re saying, and I think your point is very valid and worth saying, but why do you feel the need to start it by being condescending? I’m honestly curious because I feel like I’ve been seeing this a lot on Lemmy.

111·1 year agoIt’s especially worth noting that “Traditional Chinese Medicine” is a relatively modern invention by the CCP for cultural unity purposes. It takes various pre-scientific practices from all manner of historically disparate places and times in what now constitutes modern day China and pretends that they were always some kind of harmonious whole. Like as if the EU made up something using ancient medical beliefs from Portugal to Romania in order to enforce the idea that Europe was somehow historically a whole and therefore should be today. It’s utter rubbish.
This may be a bit off topic but I can’t help but feel the need to rant whenever TCM is mentioned and hopefully this is informative to someone.

A bit of both in my non-expert but local understanding.
Of course Anne of Green Gables is set in PEI so really it should have been set there. It would have been even funnier since they could probably outnumber the current population pretty easily if they immigrated en masse.
I mean, I think that’s just called science
Well, because it financially supports scammers preying on people is why not. And many medical scams aren’t harmless or innocent or may give people a false sense of wellness that can lead to them avoiding real medicine.
Organic does not mean pesticide free. It just means they use so called ‘organic pesticides’ which are just as bad or worse, but they’re ‘naturally derived’ which sounds better to some people. It’s marketing BS. Any agricultural practice at scale uses pesticides and all produce should be washed before consumption.
I’m not a doctor or even well read on the subject but my understanding is that: a) it’s not, and b) it’s a rather different texture/stiffness.

It’s not a review though?
