The S4 was incredible, probably my longest serving phone. I didn’t want to upgrade and lose easily changeable batteries and memory expansions. I eventually gave up when I couldn’t get the batteries any more.

Coffee@lemmy.world•James Hoffmann- V60 Papers: Our Excessive Testing Was Worth It!
4·8 months agoInteresting to know that all Hario papers are now made in the same Japanese factory. In his last video on papers I remember him saying that there were two factories in Japan and one in the Netherlands, each with different properties.

51·10 months agoThe Sega Mega CD and the 32x were genuinely great pieces of hardware…but nearly all the games were awful. I love the Mega CD in particular, and I say that as a Nintendo kid.

Android@lemmy.world•Android 16 could borrow one of the best OxygenOS multitasking features for tabletsEnglish
3·1 year agoI hope this comes to Google’s foldables too. I rarely need more than the two apps I can currently split screen, but something like Open Canvas so would certainly add more flexibility.

RetroGaming@lemmy.world•Metroid Prime 2 Remaster Set for Early 2025 Release | Retro Gaming News 24/7English
1·1 year agoMetroid Prime 2 is the only main Metroid game I’ve still not completed. The whole light/dark mechanic was just so joyless and punishing. I’ll still be buying this and giving it another go; a few quality of life tweaks and this could be enjoyable.

Android@lemmy.world•What Browser do you use on Android, and why?English
1·1 year agoSorry, I missed this comment until now. Thanks for the tip, I’ll check Zen out.
The multi window feature I mentioned in Chrome is for foldable phones. Chrome allows you to open two separate instances and have them on either side of your screen; much like you can do on a desktop. I love the multi tasking aspect foldable phones allow, but very few apps allow you to have two instances of them running like that.

Android@lemmy.world•What Browser do you use on Android, and why?English
112·1 year agoFirefox because it’s plugins make mobile browsing bareable. I have a folding phone so I wish that Firefox would hurry up and copy Chrome’s multi window feature, and then it would be the perfect browser for me.
I use Firefox on desktop too, but I’ve been experimenting with Arc the last few weeks to see what the fuss is about.

Android@lemmy.world•Are there apps that mimic notification leds on amoled screens?English
91·2 years agoI used to use this one…but for some reason I just never found any of the settings made it as noticeable and useful as an actual notification LED so I just switched to using an always on display.

I too miss notification LEDs…yet another thing sacrificed to the alter of bezelless design.

Coffee@lemmy.world•I need to replace milk in my coffee and I need ideas
6·2 years agoAnother vote from me for out and almond milk. If you do any kind of milk steaming or latte art then oat is great for that…and I just like the flavour of almond milk. It’s really nice with breakfast cereals too as it adds a nice nutty flavour to everything.
There is nothing wrong with Soy milk, but with coffee you have to be careful you don’t curdle it due to the high temperature.

Coffee@lemmy.world•Wilfa Uniform - Sounds like it's struggling after recent clean.
2·2 years agoWhen cleaning I unscrew the top section and use the provided brush to clean the burrs and push any grounds out into the collection bin. I did wipe the part where the two sections meet with a dry paper towel as there were a few grounds, so I may have removed some of the lubrication.
I quite like this one from the Coffee Chronicler. It’s heavily inspired by Tetsu’s recipe but cuts out the temperature drop and makes it easier for those mornings when you want to make good coffee when you’re still half asleep.
https://youtu.be/68ZOXrXbVHc?si=euLieqh-lCDSdMUF
It’s 20g of coffee, 160g of water with the switch open, let it drain until 45 seconds, close he switch, add another 160g of water, let it steep until the 2 minutes mark, open the switch and let it drain.
It’s not as smoot and sweet as Tetsu’s, but it’s still a great and easy recipe I use often. I hope you enjoy! Looking forward to seeing what other recipes are posted.
Some great recommendations here already, I agree with them all. Here’s a couple extra if you’re still looking for more.
