Let’s make it clear. The only virus on a PC is its owner. It never emerges on itself

Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•probably my biggest gripe with Lemmy right now. Feels like I'm just stuck in a loop.English
3·3 years agoYeah, I made a filter for the canvas and a bunch of other things. That’s hella annoying. Feels exactly as Reddit, but now I can filter it

Firefox@lemmy.ml•Question: How do I make the shortcut icons look like the way they're supposed to?English
2·3 years agoNot exactly related. However, if you want to get all favicons for the bookmarks, you could use that extension

1·3 years agouBlock Origin is very powerful thing. It can remove link tracking (I posted links before if you’re interested); it can remove parts of site; it can change JavaScript and its response. Basically, everything is possible.
Am right to assume, that you’re asking to help you with sending you there? /s
Welp, actually Linux has a very decent stuck of printer drivers. Mostly, works out of the box unlike windowzzzz

11·3 years agoThank you for your lists, mind if i ask you where do you find this kind of info?
I am not sure if I got the question? I have been using uBO from the beginning and can clearly remember as year after year uBO was able to replace more and more extensions. Furthermore, I think (assume) that addon you are using has something to do with JavaScript and thus may be replaced with uBO. But you either know how to write the rules or know the list with those rules. Personally, I made a personal list for everything I need yet is not founded anywhere within available lists.
I highly recomend you to read the uBO documentation. It has all you may need to understand it better: uBlock Origin Wiki

121·3 years agouBO has all you need, ClearURLs is not needed. Use these filter lists instead:
Also, Badger does the same as uBO, therefore you don’t need it. The same thing goes for cookies. Use default Annoyances lists (Adguard + EasyList) and add that:

Privacy Guides@lemmy.one•Brave releases its own privacy-preserving image and video searchEnglish
2·3 years agoWell, usually that happens when Americans come it. They freaking love to add politics to anything. Since they are mostly leftist, they bash anything they don’t like out of the sake of doing so. Brave is great, I have been using its search engine from the beginning and the browser when Blink engine is enforced, and I cannot use Firefox.
To be honest, it’s not exactly working. When you use fingerprint randomization on Firefox, it shows that it differs, yet won’t write straightforwardly that you are done with that. Instead, it says I do not have that randomization. It works only with Brave. Personally, I use Brave when Blink engine is required and Firefox as a daily driver.

4·3 years agoI’d also add so-called cloud storage. There is no magical cloud, there’s only someone else’s server/PC. Don’t trust it with personal data ever, or make your own “cloud” instaed.
Oh, look! I have a weird windowzzzz with a weird dock! Is it windows 12!? /s

Welp, the only and very important is that Linux is precisely like a car. You have to pay attention to it and de-facto make it by yourself. Even, let’s say, Linux Mint installation. Yeah, you kinda have everything, but as time goes you will make it more and more your very own installation at all levels. Mac is kind of evil version of a Unix system. Windows… it’s windows… everything is deadly nailed and cannot be changed, almost
