    Democrats want your kids to go to school and be fed. Republicans want to put them to work in slaughterhouses.

    Of course, it won’t ever be their kids working those low-paying awful jobs, they’re meant for your kids.

    It’s worth reading up on the group behind the recent Republican bills legalizing child labour: Foundation for Government Accountability. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foundation_for_Government_Accountability

    They’re best known as an opposition group against social welfare programs including SNAP (aka food stamps) and Medicaid. So pro child labour, anti welfare.

    They state they raised $14.5 million in 2023 toward this effect. Now seriously imagine: wealthy people spending millions of dollars toward trying to keep kids from eating meals and low-income families from having a safety net.

    And they’re one more group tied into Heritage Foundation and Project 2025, natch. So if Trump were elected, they stand to be heard better than ever.
