Maybe the joke is that the comments would quibble over details that are fleeting in time and transcend operating systems instead.

World News@lemmy.world•Volodymyr Zelenskyy feels ‘betrayed’ by Donald Trump over Starlink accessEnglish
3·1 hour agoThe magas keep betraying, it’s their thing, and even Bush said don’t get fooled so many times. I really want putin to leave and stay in existing lands, has plenty so stop killing all these people and all the suffering. Stop the dictator bs and could have had a much better economy and quality of life for people there if he did the right things, followed the Nordic models. Estonia and others have advanced with their freedom from the unhealthy controlling ways and putin could have done all that too, but no, doubled down on toxic systems and scapegoat minorities. Same horrible policies always bring horrible results for the majority, but the wealthy benefit. The wealthy and powerful protect their benefits and privileges at the expense of the many as we can see over and over in history.

News@lemmy.world•Christa Pike out of hospital and back in prison after botched execution attempt
17·4 days agoThe prison system is so rotten and corrupt to enrich the few and hurt many. The number of people in prison is deplorable and a sign that the system is rotten to have so many. We can see what helps people out of poverty and crimes and deaths of desperation, but do the opposite too often, so this is the result of that. Unhealthy systems produce unhealthy society and people. All this suffering to enrich industries related to prisons too, like all the concentration camps and supporting businesses in on the violent grift. This is the sickness of doubling down on unhealthy ways.

2·4 days agoNow displaced warehouse workers learn to maintain or program the bots and adapt to new jobs, but at some point, all this bot productivity should be taxed too or the wealth keeps concentrating among the few, rather than revenue to build better society for We The People.

Technology@lemmy.world•ICE is reportedly using a Palantir database to compile dossiers on protestors - EngadgetEnglish
2·4 days agoLet us not base policy choices on feels, be open to learning proven ways, and use Sagan’s baloney detection kit to understand what really helps people do better. People get indoctrinated and brainwashed into unhealthy ideas, tribalism, and use excuse that they don’t want to risk their benefits of belonging by questioning them or their feels. They can choose to leave unhealthy ways and meet better people. Maybe thinking is too hard and they don’t have time, due to artificial scarcity of these bad policies, or numb with mindless algorithms, so they do what their crowd does, what the media brainwashes them to fear. Critical thinking and doing the right things, actual courage is too hard.
The US has regressed in healthcare and other quality of life, due to the swings back to maga, and people unaware how long it takes to rebuild the destruction they cause each time. Dems rarely have enough majority with the lopsided system, and too many voters don’t understand all this and choose to flip back due to feels, and the world is worse off for it… again.

Technology@lemmy.world•Using AI for just 10 minutes erodes your ability to persist at hard things - Berkeley NewsEnglish
22·5 days agoAgreed, I tend to get more interested in topics and learn more than I expected, for new neural networks. I think it’s like any tool and using it right can be useful. Our brains can make new connections learning about different topics and how they are related, systems thinking and problem solving. We can search online and read the sources directly too, and verify more with increasing importance of the topic. For example, going to defend yourself in court, do a lot of research from quality sources and still reconsider lol. Just like large claims require large evidence, same idea for other resources including llms, and no need to avoid it like it’s some new Witch panic. The energy people use daily mindlessly absorbing video streams is more than text based llm use and follow up confirmations.
Learning new things and recognizing connections between topics is beneficial for the brain, as it strengthens neural pathways and enhances understanding. This process, known as neuroplasticity, allows the brain to adapt and improve its ability to learn over time

World News@lemmy.world•Zelenskiy says letting Russia sell diesel to US is 'investment in war'English
14·5 days agoThis is deplorable, self-inflicted issue and then let sick putin off the hook. This is bad fruit produced from bad people and policies. Healthy policies and ways to be excellent to each other, produces good people, but so many keep insisting on the bad ways/trees which produces the bad fruit.

3·6 days agoIt’s funny but the control the superstitions have over people is sad. Wake up to reality, this is the only time we exist and nothing after this, no reward to right the wrongs so enjoy this only time to be conscious stardust. The power to transcend the ego control is within us now. That anyone thought seriously about undoing an imaginary thing, is super senseless and waste of energy. Read The Demon Haunted World to understand the world accurately and no more useless, invisible dragons would be awesome!

News@lemmy.world•‘Should concern all Americans’: Records show ICE has gathered 50 million voter records ahead of midterms
9·7 days agoExactly, this has been the right-wing plan since at least the Powell memo and other plans since then to keep their hoarded wealth and power over the majority. Lies to mislead about public programs, lies to stoke prejudice, more tribalism, get the prejudiced voters to resent the scapegoats, taught to fear and protect how they already benefit from the systems, and keep others below them.

News@lemmy.world•DNC sues Trump administration, alleging taxpayer-funded ads violate propaganda law
2·7 days agoMore wasted money, add it to the pile wasted on vanity projects, destruction, lawsuits, and to other wealthy creeps in on his grift. It has to be more wasted than his last time and anyone else. Rather than use tax revenue to help and improve ACA or anything that helps real people, voters chose this and all the money wasted to put people in concentration camps, and more wealthy getting rich off human suffering paid with our taxes. Hmm options, spend taxes to feed all students vs spend taxes to hurt immigrants and local economies. Usa chose the latter one way or another twice which shows the real values. Do better and stop falling for the propaganda.

It will be interesting to see, but stories have come out for a while about some thing will pop the bubble, and a big recession has been right around the corner for at least a decade. What stage is this bubble in the progression to the .com pop, months, a year? Or is this different, with more profitable companies investing in infrastructure, rather than speculative startups without clear revenue plans? That was part of the take MMM made and I want to be hopeful. It reminded me about my circle of control, reduce attachment to outcomes beyond it, but do what I want within my circle. mrmoneymustache.com/2026/09/25/will-the-ai-bubble-destroy-our-retirement/
