Management really wants to push me into using AI, but I genuinely haven’t found a use for it. It can’t handle complex things, trivial or repetitive things don’t need it, and I have two decades of content that no AI could ever reproduce.

I’ve seen what happens when people use AI to handle anything other than trivial tasks. Calling it useless would be an understatement. It touched code it had no business touching and tacked its own dollar store code onto the end of what it should have been modifying.

You do understand that the US bans ingredients that the EU allows for the same reason, right, sparky?

For example, in Europe McDonald’s French fries contain 3 ingredients (potato, salt, oil) and in the US there are around 20 ingredients… The US adds all that extra shit to make the frier oil last longer, to make it easier to clean, etc. and fuck you for being poor if it gives you cancer.

That’s actually a very poor example because the US and Europe have very different regulatory frameworks. The US actually requires more details when listing ingredients than Europea does.

The tech who came to fix it, said it probably needed a software update, removed the toe plate, plugged a wifi hotspot into a network jack I didn’t know about, and the thing started working fine 5-10 minutes later.

I didn’t even know the thing had software to update.

It’s both for him. His dementia riddled brain has him convinced that oil is the only thing that works, he’s had a vendetta against green energy ever since someone dared to build a wind farm within sight of his Scottish golf course, and he loves bribes.

This seems worse.

I worked in a library twenty something years ago and once held copies of the same Berenstain/Berenstein Bears story, but with the different spellings.

You’re right that they just changed it in subsequent printings. Over time, the older copies wore out and got replaced by the new editions.

A couple months ago, my dishwasher stopped working. When the tech showed up to look at it, he said it may need a software update. He then unscrewed the toe plate, plugged a wifi hotspot into the newly revealed network jack, and let the update happen.

I was shocked, and a little alarmed, that my dishwasher even had software to update. Its entire control panel is six buttons, some status LEDs and an LED timer.

New Batman Adventures is essentially another season of TAS, but with animations closer to Superman TAS. The updated character designs take some getting used to, but the stories are good.
